They literally go months and months with little to no update and just when you think it's all over, they release something.  I don't get it.  Anyway, for those elderly gents who are still listening to REO: Speedwagon and following this game, I give you:

Is Darkfall the Settlers of Ganeath (?) one that already released and was a massive trainwreck? Or is this the one that's a trainwreck in the making? I lose track what with them both having Dark in the title.

No, you're thinking of Dark and Light and smushing that with Mourning, probably.  Darkfall has been being developed for a really long time by a very small development team who is terrible about updates.  I think they plan to publish it themselves, too.  If it DOES get released, I'll give it a go.  Hopefully, that'll happen before I die of old age.  It's one of the few indie games that I keep hoping gets finished.  Secretely hoping so I don't lost my street cred, of couse.

I'm not sure you can call that a "GAMEPLAY" video. Looks more like an engine demo video.

It's time to take this ship in to the shore and throw away the oars forever.

Tuned in, immediately get to watch cringey Ubisoft talking head offering her deepest sympathies to the families impacted by the Orlando shooting while flanked by a man in a giraffe suit and some sort of "horrifically garish neon costumes through the ages" exhibit or something.  We need to stop this fucking planet right now and sort some shit out. -Kail

hmm. I'm don't buy it. As much as I'd like to have hope for the game, there is just none left.

They coulda named it "buyme.wmv"

It's starting to look like a medieval shooter engine.

With items.

Like the first person cannon firing from the boats.

I have never seen a cannon with a square barrel before. I've also never seen one with sights, or the ability to move around so freely.

Eh, I'd give it a shot if I got into a beta or something.

I get suspicious when combat occurs and no numbers come out of people's heads.

Combat log?

I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt here. This game obviously won't be out for another 10 years, so no worries.

I've lost all interest in this game until it actually goes into a mass beta, and begins to release regular news content.

MMO Mount and Blade?

I don't know. It looks very ambitious, but I know very little of it. Is it even in any testing phase at the moment, or was the gameplay footage a bunch of bots or a handful of friends in closed testing with them? Ship combat looks interesting, but ... stationary. Would be nice to see maneuvering as an option. I wonder how the engine will hold up with larger groups of avatars on screen.
