That's more insubstantial and worthless than Geldon on a bad day. Congrats. |

Actually it said that only 60 GB units would be available initially which is interesting.

Yeah, strange. First, I heard that'd only be the case with the UK (supposedly retailers are telling Sony to do that). Now it's everywhere too? |

No wonder, at a price tag 30% higher in real terms then in the US the only people buying the PS3 over here will be the ones who don't care about how much it costs anyway. |

Europe seems to suffer from price inflation for every console.  £180 ($360) for the Wii is pure fucking insanity.  £425 ($850) for the PS3 even more so.  £199 ($400) for the core 360 is also way out of line. Is this the console manufacturers shafting you guys, or you own governments (VAT)? |

Everything in Europe is expensive.  I saw a spot on NBC news (I was in the wrong place at the wrong time, long story) about how Europeans were flying to NYC to do some cheap Christmas shopping.  Hey, America, how's it feel to be Europe's Mexico? |

It feels great.  I love a low cost of living. |

That just proves that flying is too cheap at the moment anyway. |

In europe all prices include VAT (usually around 18 - 20%) so if you compare those prices to US prices you'd have to subtract the tax.
 example for germany:

Euro 599 including tax are Euro 503 without tax (VAT is 19%)

That would be $650 without tax. The $50 that are left are just the normal "We don't like eurofags" tax that every big corporation slaps on things when they sell them in the EU.
