Just some combined pics of BC items I'd picked up through my time in the beta.  A preview for you guys, if you will.  Click on them to see the larger versions. Note that the highest I got was L64, so anything without a level on it was from a quest at L64 or lower.

Wow.. who needs nemesis when you have netherweave?!

The biggest 'hits' are going to be the trinkets imo.. the melee one is a blackhand's breadth+earthstrike, the caster one is a briarwood reed+talisman of ephemeral power. Green items, quested at level 62 even!

I didn't bother preordering. I wonder when I'm actually going to get the game?

If you can find an iso of the install software you may be able to use http://www.onlinecdkey.com/index/. Or if you have a friend who buys it install it and use a bought key.

My grad classes start up again Tuesday. I'll probably just order it off Amazon tomorrow and wait.

Here's a pic I made for some of my guildies. Here's some of the quest greens you can get walking out of the Dark Portal. Level 58 quests.

What powers  you ask? I dunno, how about the power of suck? That do anything for ya? That's derivative gameplay, homes. How about  the power to kill a yak from 200 yards away, with BOREDOM? That's hotkey combat, noob.

These new items make me very happy.  My druid will be feraliscious.

schild was due.  Nothing to see here.

edit: if that entire spat was a Tenacious D reference, I wouldn't know.

edit#2: Just looked it up.  It is.  Well, at least he's being creative.  tongue

I'm not exactly sure if there's anything wrong with derivative gameplay if it's done well. I'm kinda sick of "really original" games like Wario Ware or whatever tripe Nintendo is tossing out the DS nowadays.

I think WoW must have touched schild on the PSP...

I agree with the derivitive gameplay argument. There's stuff to be said for original and fresh of course, when its well done.

In the end, gameplay/fun factor is all that should matter, not weather its been "done before" (especially since pretty much every single game has).  For me, WoW is a very fun experience.  Much more so than any other MMO to date.  Christ, I`ve never played any game this long in my life.

I think you might be right about WoW touching schild in naughty places though, I cant figure out any other reason for his hyu like inability to just let it go.

Edit:  Oh, and in case anybody hasnt seen this before, heres a gigantic list of pop culture references in wow.  Theres ALOT.

Anyway, back to the topic as opposed to schild's Wonder-Boy trolling
(yeah, I know WoW is EQ1 just polished up. Plenty of games fit the description of X is just Y polished up. I don't care as long as I'm having fun.)

Looks like there's some nice items right off the bus there as far as greens go. I can see a couple of upgrades for my 60's right there, which is nice, though I am a little disappointed in the beginnings of true EQ-style expansion-muflation a la Kunark though, rather than continuing to scale reasonably. But we'll see if it all ends up a little more even around 65 or so, and what happens up to 70 as far as the gaps between the ubers and catasses and casuals.

The quest rewards from Hellfire seem aimed at getting players up to around the equivalent of T1 gear.  Running around in nearly-full T1 I found very few upgrades for my hunter until I started replacing things in Zangramarsh swamp and Terrorkar forest, which are the 62-64 range.  The only reason I even replaced those bits was because the +crit on them no longer mattered as much as the +sta or +ap on the new stuff.

When you get to Shattrath city in Terrorkar (or if you run there early on to get the FP and thus access to the portals back to 'the mainland') check out Aldor or Scryer rise.  The L70 T4/T5 stuff is on quartermasters there, and it's not such a huge upgrade to even high-end L60 stuff.  They seem to have learned about Mudflation and are scaling back - probably to release better stuff in a narrower range over the long term.

Ah, I see. They're trying to level out the playerbase from the get-go then. As I'm not a raider in WoW, my mage is in mostly PVP blues and purples, with a couple of other bits and pieces but my rogue is mostly in dungeon blues (and never even got full dungeon tier 0) with pvp weapons and helm.

I guess my rogue will be seeing more upgrades than my mage, but that's fine considering the amout of catass time I've been playing the last few weeks. And to think I thought my pvp days were over when I got my AV rep up on the two of them....

WoW's mudflation wasn't that bad until the insane Naxxramas stuff. I still want to know why they made that stuff so much better than anything else. It came close to wrecking what balance remained in the PVP game.

My guess is so it would have legs in the expansion up to 70ish rather than just becoming obselete within 4-5 levels like BWL gear will.

I keep telling you guys, it's all about the Talbuk. Coolest mount in the game from the easiest faction to get exalted with.

Now, those are cool.  I'd love to have one.  Not an elephant though.

The BE birds are nice, also.

It was fun just to see all my guildies linking the new stuff that was dropping for them off normal stuff.  Heck, the first boar I dropped gave me a green that was of the caliber found in an instance, not a standard MOB.

I was only able to get my rogue/skinner/leather character over to Hellfire.  That alone was worth it to get the new skinning skill cap level and train up in LW.  I had to drop like 30 gold total for all the new stuff, but it was worth it to actually have a reason to make armor/skin again.  I was surprised at how happy I was just with that part of the game.  I truly am a crafting geek.

Now I just want the servers to stay stable so I can take my other chars over and start on their crafts.  And jewelcrafting?  Yes.

It is bizarre to be getting items in the mail from guildies that are better than my hard earned gear from yester-yore.  Additional kicker?  They are crafted.

My rogue is already kicking 2x more ass than before and he's still lvl 60.  That won't be long as I already am 1/4 through 60 just from doing one run of the first instance in Hellfire.  I have not done any quests yet.
