I liked the OSU offensive strategy. Have Troy Smith run back 15 yards, then run back and forth until he is tackled.

The "injure your own star player after he takes the opening kick back for 6" plan worked out real well too.

I kept wondering during the game if he was hurt or something. Even when he stepped into a pass it was in no hurry to get to his receivers. He just made himself look like a terrible QB, no matter how good that defense was playing. A friend of mine would have won like 600 bucks if OSU won. OOPS.

Standard Big 10. I'm sure 51 days off didn't help either.
Florida really impressed me with their defense tonight... which says a lot since I hate Florida.

Urban Meyer is simply an amazing coach. Period. The guy turns every program he touches (even with other people's players) into pure gold. He was a speaker at some damn fundraiser or bar thing or god knows what that I was at when he was here at Utah and he is a really impressive guy. His intensity and enthusiasm is quite infectious. I would not be surprised if he is a Senator in 15 years. Seriously.

Yeah the coaching was good. After the kick return they just went out and did their business, and they ran their offense without a real running back the entire game. Talk about making the most out of what you have, he found a scheme that let his offense prosper despite some big holes. I've always hated it when coaches come in and force a system even if it doesn't fit the players. He really made the most out of his personel.
Troy Smith - was weird. The guy just couldn't handle the rush at all. At least step forward so your o-line can try to protect you. Running straight back is horrible for a variety of reasons. I don't know what was going on, he just looked horrible.

And to think Alabama was ahead of this team until the fourth quarter this season.
And that was with Mike "deer in the headlights" Shula.
Now, with the all powerful Nick Saban, who was probably given a bigger reception than if Jesus Christ had arrived at Tuscaloosa with angels and dancing girls, the Crimson nation waits for next year.
Man, that was a total asswhipping.
OSU total offense: 84 yards Troy Smith: 36 yards passing -37 yards rushing for a total of - 1 yards offense.
It wouldn't have mattered if Ginn was out there, he wasn't going to be blocking Silar, Harvey, or any of the other defensive linemen.
You can talk about the lower level teams winning meaningless bowl games, but in the games of prestige, it was SEC all the way.

With the way we fire coaches, it's tough to say if Shula could have done anything given another year. We did lose some key players in the last season to injuries and graduation. If they let Saban go for having a bad season after a damn good season, then it had better be a season with only two wins, not some bullshit where we suck wind in conference play. But yeah, fuck Shula. Roll Tide!

I think the SEC spoke for itself with...
Alabama losing to OK St. - Alabama was a 2-6 SEC team with a lame duck coach, and they still only lost by a last second FG Kentucky beating Clemson - nobody saw that coming, first bowl win in 22 years South Carolina beating Houston - didn't look like much on paper, but Houston was the C-USA champ, and Spurrier got his first bowl win with SC Georgia beating VA Tech - 2nd best comeback of the year next to Texas Tech Auburn beating Nebraska - It wasn't overwhelming, but it was in the W column LSU beating Notre Dame - it was an asswhomping, plain and simple. Notre Dame sucks in bowl games Florida beating OSU - It's the Texas-USC thing all over again. Let everyone in the media hang all over OSU's nuts for two months, only to get treated like bitches
Two games looked bad for the SEC...
Penn State beating Tennessee - Penn State just looking great, Tenn looked like they were lost Wisconsin beating Arkansas - Wisconsin simply had their best team ever in the best season ever, Arkansas' Defense held up well in the second half allowing no points, but they couldn't get any offense going in time
Overall... SEC with a 6-3 record in bowls that sent 75% of our conference this year, and the national championship. Will the media stop talking about the greatness of the PAC-10 now? Nope, but we can at least point to the scoreboard and chuckle.

Being this is the first thread I have opened this morning, I am going to highjack it and state that rainbow colored names is annoying. Some of us don't like black backgrounds, and these pastel colors areimpossible to read.
I do like the pink on Cheddar though.

Man that game was just fucking painful to watch. It was like a high school team vs a pro team for the parts I saw.
With all the hype around here, I had an itch to bet against OSU. Damn myself that I didn't do it after all.

Here's the scary thing for Florida. Tebow is a freshman and he's got a great arm.
God, the SEC is going to be even more brutal.
