I didn't copy / paste it but on the wow loader there's news that they're going to try and go without the Tuesday maint block this week, presumably trying to just do the maint tasks during low pop points.

Hoping this means we'll get it in off peak in Aus as us offpeak is out peak.

Given my current timezone (maybe an hour or two off from yours tops) I hope so too.

Try Europe... the current maint downtime might as well say "no WOW on tuesdays" for me. :P
This is a good thing, though I wonder how badly it'll destabilize the servers over the next few weeks.

(and yeah, I'm an euro playing on the US servers, since my guild's there. I may not get into any large raids or be able to play classes that require better-than-700 ping, but levelling/farming is always peaceful and quiet.)

Lazy bums!

(just kidding)

Can't imagine how they'll do maintenance this week though without bringing things down. I foresee a lot of queues come Friday. On the one hand, companies that can do it deserve to let their employees take the time off, and many do the last week of the year. On the other hand, so many players are also off I imagine this'll be higher peak activity than normal. And it was during those normal times when it was oft proven weekly downtime maintenance was a requirement.

Good luck to whoever tries to log in :)

I wouldn't get too comfortable with maintenance day going away.  It likely has more to do with it being Christmas on Monday and they decided to take an extra day off.

No, the notice is written that they have a new tool to allow live patching/maintenance in place.

I would not get comfortable because of questioning whether it will work or not, but it is not because of Christmas.

Hahahaha!  I'm really good at this!

I noticed that it's back as of this week.

Witty banter not included.

They have stated they are still testing the procedure, and they also still plan to have maintenance, just not EVERY week. This week they have to do hardware maintenance anyway so they just went with a full blown regular downtime.
