wants a greif tittle

on: December 20, 2006, 10:36:05 AM

If anyone is looking for a guild for the expansion, I am starting up a new guild with a bunch of my old WoW buddies. Its going to be mostly PVE, with a little PVP. We recently all transferred to Tichondrius (PVP) to get us all back together. So far we have about 20 raiders, and another 15 casuals and re-rolls. We are planning on doing the raiding thing Sunday - Wednesday. I know not many people here are in to raiding, but if you want some people to hang with, we are accepting casuals, as long as they are referals from current members. As I always do, I thought I would drop an invite here, just to see if any one is interested. Send me a PM if you are.

Welcome to Tichondrious.  If you ever need spares for 5 man runs, or AQ 20 / ZG runs, give me a shout.

Incarna - 60 Resto Shaman
Fenella - 60 (as yet not specced) Druid

If I could stomach being on a PVP server I'd do it.   undecided  I've not heard great things about that particular hive of scum and villany either.

I would think a PvP server is only a pita while leveling. If you can transfer though, then that problem's solved.

I'm old. I don't want people to bother me anymore unless I sanction it.  UO was just a different beast. So is EVE.  Something about DIKU style gameplay makes me hate PVP+ all of the time.

Going to have to level in tBC also.

My bad. I forgot about TBC leveling (Isn't it like the same amount of time it takes to get from 1 to 50?).

Do you mean 1-60?  No idea.  Someone here in the beta could illuminate if they're allowed.

I wouldn't bet on more than 10 or 12 hours per level (probably less) if they kept with their linear time progression.  50-60 took 8 per level as a complete noobie.

I meant to type 1-50.

If it's like 1-60, then that's pretty damn excessive (even 1-50 is imho).

Dunno, I never found the leveling to be THAT bad.  It does slow considerably around level 40.  50-54 is always pretty painful due to the lack of quests. 55+ just felt like a sprint.

Anyhow, sorry for the derail, Morph. But hey, free bumps!  Best of luck with your new endeavor.

They keep futzing with things, and I haven't logged into beta in about a week and a half.. BUT.. no, it's a misunderstood quote that lead to that rumor.

A blue quote once said something along the lines of 'it's interesting, we sat down and figured it out and it takes as much XP to get from 60 to 70 as 1-70!'.  That has been perverted to 'zomg it's going to take you as long to hit 70 as 1-60!!'   My hunter is 62.5 in beta, and I've logged maybe 24 hours total in-game, and done a lot of playing with specs/ exploring rather than hardcore grinding.

Levels take slightly longer than 55-60 levels, but not so much that you really feel it.  The harsh part will be those of you on PvP servers spending all your time in contested zones with no city nearby, and quests that throw Horde & Alliance in the same general area for their objectives. And that's before you toss-in the nice PvP objectives that keep the L70 folks occupied in the zones.

The past cannot be changed. The future is yet within your power.

No offense Ras, but are you high? Level 50 is like the promised lands for quests. Un'goro, Felwood, Blasted Lnds, Western Plaguelands.

It's been like a year since I've done 1-60.  My memory may be hazy.  Perhaps it was late 40's before you hit Ungoro and the like. But it looks like they've made efforts to smooth out the rough edges including adding all of those quests in Revantusk and Searing Gorge. At 46 right now and haven't really ever had to grind. Starting to run a bit thin on yellow quests, though (lots orange, some I distinctly remember as not soloable).

I plan to mostly level isninstances. I hate questing. PvP problem solved. Also, I get gear!

Back on tpoic:

I'm looking for a guild atm, but I'm sticking with Frostmourne because of the whole Australian thing. In the same Battlegroup though, so let us know what your guild name is so I can come troll here when we beat a PM group!1

40-50 was always painful for me.  Not so much lack of quests, but lack of any GOOD ones.

I still have a hunter stuck at 48 because his pet died of boredom.

Yeah, Ras your probably thinking of 45-50. That is a horrible time for leveling. Maybe thats why level 50 seems so awesome, you go from no quests to tons of quests.

Lamaros, your really going to slow your leveling if you dont quest. In the xpac they have really upped the exp rewards from quests. Also, guild name is PaganSpiral, no space, cause for some reason Pagan is not allowed (Yet "Holy Warriors of Christ" is).

Hat, you can look us up at www.paganspiral.com pretty much only the forums work, but thats all I care about.

Yeah, unfortunatly that is the case. However, I've been told that Instance exp is pretty decent too, so I hope it wont be that bad. I expect I will still do the odd quest for good rewards and the like.

I'm pretty tempted but I'd have to either transfer or level up (just remembered, you're probably Horde).  Since my old guild broke up I've been pretty antisocial.  I'm ready to get back into a guild with actual cool people in it.

Witty banter not included.

Yeah, im Horde. I am one of the ones rerolling for BE Pally, but im keeping my rogue around for PVP. Hell, if you want to roll a new guy now, or a BE at tBC release, your welcome to have a guild invite just so you can have some guys to chat with. The core group is going to be trying to PVE pretty hardcore, but we have a group of casual friends also, so its not going to be Raid or Die (tm) for everyone.

Any queue times on Tichondrius? I've been playing about an hour of DotA a night and have an ithcing to switch that hour back to WoW.

I've been out of the game for almost a year now and I was planning on re-starting on a new server with TBC.  But starting over on an old server with non-asshats is intriguing.

Ya.  It's strange, but no other game really does it for me quite the same.

Edit: I'd really just be happy to have a guild that isn't full of asshats as Gallo said.  Some place to shoot the shit, and who don't really mind if I don't feel like raiding or leave in the middle of a 5-man to spend time w/ the family.

Pfft. Nice gripe in the disguise of an olive branch.  tongue  Why would you play a game you actively disdain.  I call shennanigans!

I ruv the graphics.  It's part of the reason I have such a hard time with other MMOs.  They all try for a style and fail miserably. Whether you like WoW's style or not, at least it works for what they were going for. Most err on the side of trying to go too realistic and end up with characters that look like plastic and have dull environments with a high amount of brown.  Going back to older games.. most have really terrible animations and haven't aged well.  Might be my setup, the game looks gorgeous on my 17" LCD in 1280x1024 res + 4x aa.  Looks like butt on my laptop, but at least it's still playable.

I'm in limbo until TBC. I absolutely cannot stand the late 40s leveling.  It's torture.  BAD BAD quests that are poorly balanced and a pain in the ass.  My druid is just hard to play right now.  Combine this with the fact that I somewhat burnt myself out on battleground PVP due to catassing like the Rasix of yesteryear during AV weekend..

Bleh, I can only distract myself soo long before succumbing to the call..

Edit: I wouldn't let not being on an RP server discourage you from RPing.  Half of the reason to be on PVP server is to grief others and nothing is quite as annoying as over the top roleplaying.

I still wish they didn't take out summoning to a dungeon from warlocks.  There's something magical about being able to say "hey guys, wife just got home and wants to go get some dinner, I'll be afk for at least 1/2 hour, can you find another?" and them replying "ya, np, we'll just port in a replacement".

As soon as I find out about queues on Ticho I'll txf my shaman over.  I might also txf a 56 druid off of a friend since he doesn't play it anymore.

To be honest, I'd play the game for the people.  Were it not for the fact that F13 folks are pretty bad about committing to games, I may have played there a while ago.  I will confess that most of it was just a poor attempt at humor.

What kind of queues Hat?

Log in queues? Never seen one since I transferred over.

BG Queues? AV is about 15-30 seconds. WSG and AB are about the same if solo, or up to a few minutes with a full group.

My guild is going to do the raiding thing, fairly hardcore, but we are going to also have a casuals rank. They wont get first invites to raids, but for everything else, equality. Also people will know they are casual, so no one gets mad if you have to log or what not.

Sounds good to me.  I'll have next Friday off, so maybe I'll jump in a raid :p

Don't even want to raid, but I would like to see some of the higher end content I never really got around to seeing.
