For months now, I've been seeing people from these boards with 360's logging on and off of Xbox Live. For a while now I've just been regarding these pop-up's as annoyances when I should have been chatting you all up and trying to actually get us all involved in something we obviously enjoy. How many times have you seen f13Schild or Big Gulp74 log in and just shrug, "Oh, those catasses are on now"? I know I've seen all your names pop online and just ignored you.
Tonight I traded some messages back and forth with Morphfiend and I realized how fucking stupid it was to just be aware that some of you were logged in and not actually play with any of you. What do you all think about coming up with a sort of temporary communal game we could all get together in? I'm thinking from a purely team based POV we have Saint's Row, Rainbow Six Vegas, NHL 07, NHL 2K7, and Chromehounds among others I probably missed to choose from for our gaming enjoyment. Come on, we've got the best system out there for online gaming, and it seems to me that this community is completely ignoring that capability. What do you all think about setting up some sort of community game that we could all commit to for the time being so we can talk trash to each other in person?

I don't have Chromehounds anymore. Maybe we should start over on the XBL list? Or update it? Har.

The thing is that I'll happily update all the user names here, but then you'll all just pop up here and there while I'm playing a game (you're the most frequent pop up, Schild) and it's too fucking easy to ignore you. I'm talking more about some kind of commitment, which I fully admit is a scary word, but otherwise we won't ever really get together. And that'd really be a shame since we're all the same breed of lame-ass dork who get into the same things. I just really don't want to repeat the problems we've had in the past with trying to get together in MMOs. I'd like to pool our collective brains, decide on a game we could all get together in, and then actually play together. I know it's a novel concept, but after the blast I've had with relative strangers in Chromehounds I figure we'd all have a damned good time cooperating with/killing each other while derailing conversations in game. Let's come up with a game we can all agree upon and go buy if we already don't have it. There's no reason for all of us to continue this separate existence when we could all actually get a lot more out of these systems by coordinating with each other.

Since I haven't played any of the versus modes in Gears of War, if we have enough people to do that I'd be quite happy to chainsaw you at an appointed time each week.
Other then that, I'm anti-social on XBL because I'm usually on a timeline and just trying to get another game of hockey in before I have to go elsewheres.

I was doing the same thing as BG, just kind of watching people log on and off. But after telling Nix to invite me for some Rainbow Six: Vegas, and he did. I have been having a great time playing co-op with him and his friends.
I think the one factor holding people back is having the same games, and intrests at the same time. Anyone that wants to play Rainbow Six or Gears feel free to hit me up any time.
Also, BG how far through Marvel are you? I will for sure play a few levels with you later this week if you want.

Glad you're enjoying it, Morph. My buddies and I enjoy having that extra person around. It makes it even more fun when we're all still learning cause it's fun to laugh at ourselves and avoid the serious bullshit of matching up with unknowns. I wouldn't mind heading up some nights where I get my friends and the F13 crew together to do some VS in Vegas.
The only other games I own are NFS: Carbon and NHL07. I don't think many others have Carbon, but it does have online police tag which sounds like it'd be fun. Either way, if you start doing something on the regular, I'd be up for it.
Edit: Maybe Schild needs to sticky the 360 user name thread?

You play both for 360, you'll see why I chose 07.

I dunno, I played both on regular Xbox, and 2k7 was vastly superior. Played some 07 on 360 yesterday, and I was still thoroughly unimpressed. Also, I hate Bill Clement.

On regular xbox, 2k7 is vastly superior. On 360, still superior, but not so vastly. It takes about 10 games or so to get used to the control stick, but once you do is by far the better control scheme... for offense anyways.

If it means anything, at my Gamestop, we have 0 copies of 2k7 on the 360, while we have...I dunno...a least 4 or 5 copies of 07.

Meh - I'll try and be more sociable as well heh. MMOG's have turned me off other humans in general but I'd be glad to play with you folks.
Currently playing:
GoW - haven't tried online at all yet but would love to try out some co-op and vs. Need for Speed most wanted - not sure this has multi player worth mentioning? Dead Rising - ditto above? PGR3 - old but still the best 'racer' on the 360
Also have NHL2K06, Tiger Woods 06, FIFA World Cup and DoA 4.
Will be picking up Rainbow Six: Vegas tomorrow (was out of town this week for biz)
