Seriously, I'm not surprised so many people stepped out of line for that.

I would've dumped that machine [on ebay] double time. The cost of a computer drops 80% once you drive it off a lot.
Also, ugggggggggggly. Green flames? What is this 1987? Where's my hyper color shirt?

Im not 100% sure, but the article seemed to indicate that whoever won had to sign a contract saying that they were essentially winning that PC on the condition that they never purchase a PS3, ever. One of the pics down near the end has the discriptor saying it is of him signing the contract, and them mentioning they will be checking in on him periodicly over the next few YEARS to make sure he honours it. Im with Schild though. I would have dumped that thing on ebay for as much as i could get, and used the money to purchase a slightly inferior, but probably just as usefull gameing rig, and used the difference to pick up a PS3 later on down the road.

That was a pretty shitty monitor for an $8k PC.

By posting this from my PS3, I have now done what that 8k machine would be doing 90% of the time.

The next day: "What's that honey? You bought yourself a PS3 for Christmas?"
See, wives are good for something.
