Bass is too loud in single player.

Vocals are dick on nearly all the songs I wanted to be playing (Sweet Child, Freebird, etc).

Feels more like you're trying to beat a game than play along with a song.

Hearty Meh.

More soon.

Why would I wait? I'll pick up the 360 version for the downloadable content. It's the vocals that really kill it though.

I have no PS2 and even fewer dreams. Don't crush them. Please.

YYZ was good. I played the demo at one of my local GameStops after putting in a last minute "preorder" for FF XII. No vocals on that song though.

I was surprised to walk into EB earlier and hear the Butthole Surfers playing. The actual track sucked though. I barely could hear the vocals.

Lol to Schild wanting to play Freebird.

GH2 sucks? You're out of your fucking mind.

Bass too loud? Take your balls out of your purse and try playing it again.

We'll see if the final version is better than the demos I've been on, if not, well, I've got 5 people who played it in my house and it's pretty meh.

Oh, I've got the final version here and it's awesome. The demo(s) are earlier versions of the GUI and everything.

Only thing that sucks is the song line up for certain sets. I'm stuck at like level 7 or 8 because I don't know any of these songs, and you have to pass all 4 to move on, instead of 4/5. My choices are lamb of god, reverend horton heat, "carry me home" by some band I don't remember (impossible song) and something else that I passed, I think the Anthrax tune.

You've got audio/video lag adjustments for DLPs/what-have-you and it now supports widescreen and 480p.

ALSO, if you have the 10 song demo there with the hacked song list from the guy on scorehero.com, you CANNOT TELL ME (it's not possible) that Freebird and Jessica coop aren't the best thing ever. Drunk or not.

I didn't bother with this one.  I have two professional musicians in my family, guitar is one of their primary instruments and one of them can play nearly anything he picks up.  I bought the first Guitar Hero and gave it to him but he thought it was pretty naff.  So I gave it to the other and he didn't like it a bit.  Finally, having run out of anyone close to me who might want it, I ended up giving it to a couple of little kids my sister knows.  I suppose I should have known better.

Coop didn't work for us on the hacked version. Jessica and Freebird were by far the best things on there. Everything else, shit. Really just Jessica though.

Jessica and Freebird are on my worklist. Jessica more than Freebird. Liz Reed is on there, too, and Stateboro Blues, which I decided to go ahead and learn in standard tuning so I could jam on it more instead of playing rote learned open-E stuff (because I mostly slide in open-D), so it's tougher because I don't have the tabs for it in standard tuning.

Oh, this is the fake guitar thread :P

Yes, my friend, this may infact be the fake guitar thread, but around this time tomorrow I'll be wailin' away on my cherry red fake guitar.

That's right, I'll let no sour review of Guitar Hero 2 put my aspirations of rockstardom down!

Final version is MUCH better than the demo I hadd. It's almost as good as the first one.

That demo was not meant to be fucked with.

So I FINALLY BEAT The Sword's Freya and managed to trash Heart, Aerosmith and one other one in that tier (Aerosmith was the encore from the previous tier) on the first try. Rock This Town Is Rocking my Ass. It's too awkward for me. But I fucking smoked jessica. I hit like 1041 of the 1200 notes. It was SICK. Didn't even need to use star power. FELT LIKE A ROCK GOD. Considering it was my second try. I've beat a good handful of the extra stuff already.

Basically, good stuff, not quite as good as the first. Jessica and Carry On My Wayward Son are the best tracks thus far. Oh and Freezepop's "Less Talk More Rokk," but I'm biased towards them.

I beat that same tier after getting murdered on Freya, and I'm stuck on the next one and haven't retried yet. Giving it a few days to rest after a many hour GH2 binge.

YYZ should be on "Drum Hero" instead.

I'd argue "Bass Hero".  Throw on some Stanley Clarke and Primus and you've got a game.

Primus is in this one and you can play the bass part.

Schild did you start out on Expert? I gotta come clean. I'm getting stuck on hard.

I think I need to play through medium so I can hear how some of these songs are supposed to sound. That or spend time in the practice area.

I admit I'm tempted to get a ps2 for this game and the original, they sound like fun. I chuckle, too, because that controller is based on the same guitar I play:

Gay.  Why do developers not understand that lots of people like to play Career mode.  And when friends are over, there's something to be had accomplishing something together.  This game is only fun to watch for  so long.

Hat:
Impossible. First of all, guitar hero 2 coop is crazy harder. Second of all, you can pick your instrument and pick your difficulty. They would have had to make an entirely new difficulty. While they could have done that, they also could've just put it under Quick Play and made it a high score contest. Which is much more fun anyway.

There aren't two people on the planet who could've beaten a career mode expert of Guitar Hero 2 the first time through and unlocked the songs. They'd kill eachother on songs like Jessica. Literally, it would be an all out brawl.

Yes, it is exactly why there is no career mode in coop.

Guess I'll wait and see.

Makes more sense in my mind to add another difficulty level.  Or just throw it in there, impossible challenges keep the game interesting non?

Like I just said, that other difficulty level is called Quick Play. And it begins with you never ever ever beating YYZ on Expert*Expert.

You are going to hate life on that next tier after Rock This Town. It's like they took all the obscure songs and put them in a row.
