Strange. I'm not seeing any banners at all here now. And I haven't turned on adblocking or anything.

Thankfully, the new version of Avant Browser blocks all the ads from here now, and I haven't been able to figure out how to turn it off.

Deal with that when I get home tonight, thanks.

Those ads are probably showing up on 1up.com also.

I don't even know what that means. But odds are, it makes you an asshole.

Edit: Remember, these aren't pay per click.

Mine says I get a free laptop if I click the banner and that I am also the 1,000,000th visitor, which is nice.

Mine all talk about wireless amber alerts or asking me if I've been a dad today.

Yea, they nailed the MMO demographic right there.

So I was right.

You can hardly be ever wrong by calling me an asshole. Guilty as charged. What I was posting is largely irrelevant to that observation. Oh and 127.0.0.1 is like SB.EXE for adds.

Yeah, who cares...I hardly notice. That may be in part because every time I look it's shit like "Who is hotter: Hillary Duff or some other chick?" or some shit having to do with something called Zwinky.

Way to hit that target demographic, assholes.  Hello Kitty

Ah that explains it. I've been using the new Avant for a couple of weeks now. I guess the ads have been gone all that time I never even noticed. Let me know if you find a way to turn off the adblocking and I'll do it.

Admittedly I haven't upgraded to the latest version of Avant, but it's probably in more or less the same place:

Tools -> Avant Browser Options -> Ad Blocker

In there should be a checkbox for overall enable/disable as well as a black list and exception list.

It actually IS the Adblocker. It has a list of blocked URL's and *.a.tribalfusion.* or some such is the one spewing out the ads on F13. If you want to see the ads on this site, remove that one from your AdBlocker list. Or keep it in the filter and never see them again.

Does anyone remember the old ad where you picked spots on a tree to try and win shit? I actually won a little monkey doll once...too bad I have no idea where it is now.
