I get depressed whenever I do this.
Thief 3: Got halfway in, crashed to desktop so much I quit and never bothered reinstalling it. Haven't touched it since 2 months after it came out. Oblivion: Too much game, not enough time. Age of Empires 3: Playing regular matches against the computer is more fun for me than the campaign. Brothers in Arms: Had the starforce virus, wouldn't install. Never even played it. It sits on my shelf unplayed. Nox: Way old game I picked up a long time ago. Was pretty cool, but frustratingly hard. Never bothered to reinstall it after a format. Knights of the Old Republic 2: Loved the game until my saves started getting corrupted, then real life matters distracted me for a couple days and I forgot all about it.
Disgaea 2: Too much game, not enough interest. Kingdom Hearts 2: Ran out of gas after one of the weaker worlds, got tired of Sora. Dragon Quest 8: Got to a part that involved sailing to find a monster, lost interest. I'll probably finish this one eventually. Cold Winter: Genuinely interesting plot, genuinely uninteresting gameplay after the first couple stages. Timesplitters: Bought it, tried to play it, it sucked, never played it again. GTA Whatever: The main missions were never interesting enough to bother with. Xenosaga: If I want to watch a boring anime I'll just download the Melancholy of whatever shit that people have been pushing on me. The Thing: Movie license game I bought under the influence of stupidity.
Jade Empire: Boring.
Eternal Darkness: Bad game. Tales of Symphonia: Refused to end.

I purchased Oblivion but really disliked how my board and sword character played, after closing Nth portal it got too repetitive and I stopped playing. I got Asheron's Call when it first released, had problems with convoluted activation and when revisited it again trial expired (I guess it did activate, just not in a way that would let me play) and I never touched it again. BF2:Special Forces - played about 10 times, hated most maps, especially night time maps, and never played it again. MoO3 - I tried to like it but couldn't stand after 3 attempts to play it. Just not fun. Arcanum - never had time when I bought it. I should find CD and play it.... Good idea!

Pretty much any game for the XBOX except for KOTOR 1, so probably eight green boxes.
World of Warcraft - I have never been to BWL, Naxx or AQ40.
EQ2 - I made it to the starting city and then de-installed the game.
Pokemon Blue and Red - Err, just never had that gotta-catch-them-all itch.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - That NES controller just would not allow me to move the two pixels I needed it to...
Other than that, I have relied on cheat codes to finish the rest.

I think the better question is, what games *have* you finished?
Since I don't have a lot of time, I tend to play for a bit and then get distracted and then don't ever play it again. "for a bit" can be a month or more though.
The only game I've finished? Max Payne.
The game I played the least amount of time that I actually bought? Kotor 2 for the PC. Gave me a headache - I think I played it for 45 minutes total. 2nd runner up: Half-life 2 (maybe 2 hours total). (But I do play a lot of CS:Source, etc).

Dragon Quest 8
Titan Quest
Halo 2
Deus Ex 2
Gun --- I really like Wild West stuff, but I've been burned out on GTA style gameplay lately.
Vampire: The Masquerade -- Bugs killed it for me, but I never thought it was Vampire Jesus like everyone else here did anyways.
The Movies -- Never have made a custom movie (if that counts as a game). Funny too, since that was the original draw for me.
Pretty much all racing games (though I do like them for multiplayer).
All combat flight simulators (the boxes always lure me in, but I'm better off sticking to arcade action).

The number of games I've bought and haven't finished is in the hundreds. I'm particularly bad with console JRPGs, where I'll play them for 60 - 80 hours and then stop not having finished them.
Here's my list from the unfinished games that are still installed on my PC:
Black & White 2 - pretty close to the end but the "grind" got to me (very slow to expanded controlled territory) Call of Duty 2 - well done but nothing that makes me want to play till the end Children of the Nile - can't remember why I stopped playing Company of Heroes - currently playing, took a detour to finish Dark Crusade as the Tau and now I'm back to playing it and I expect to finish Defcon - haven't even finished the last tutorial mission, didn't like the pacing of the game DeuxEx - this is the like the 5th time I've tried to play through this game but I always get frustrated by something and stop playing Dragonshard - a bland D&D RTS Galactic Civilization 2 - not different enough from the first one Guild Wars - never finished the first campaign thanks to the crappy AI, may give it another shot becuase of the update Marvel - Ultimate Alliance - just got it, will probably finish it since I finished X-Men Legends II but have been busy playing PSU NWN - never finished first one, did finish the two expansions Phantasy Star Universe - about halfway through Story Mode, I expect to finish it Prey - see CoD 2 Sid Meier's Railroad - buggy step back from RRT2/3, will probably never finish all the scenarios Zoo Tycoon 2 - distracted by other things, want to unlock the pandas and then I'll be done with the game
I also never finished The Movies, which I recently deleted off my drive to make room for my new games. There wasn't enough control over movie making and the sim aspects just weren't interesting enough.

Many, many JRPGs, including:
Final Fantasy 4, 5, 8, 9, and 10: I got most of these (except 10) from ye olde bargain bin, so I consider their purchase to be beneficial just so I can say I have/play them, but dear lord, I hate these games. Final Fantasy Tactics: Liked it, but got to some part pretty early on where I felt I had to grind a bit to beat the next mission, and I got bored. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Hated it, got up to the final boss and got locked into some damned annoying healing cycle where if we stopped healing we'd die instantly. Tried to attack, died instantly. Haven't played it since. Xenosaga: I actually liked this game. My favorite part was the way you didn't have to play it very much. But I ran out of steam part way through. .Hack: Neat concept, horrible execution. I think I made it up to the third game, when enemies were all pussies and I could kill pretty much anything except that they all had charm/instant kill/sleep spells which meant you either resisted and won or failed and died. I hear they're doing another sequel, because I guess they felt the world just couldn't get enough iterations of their crappy game.
Also, Dark Cloud 2, Wild Arms 3, Breath of Fire: Dragon something or other, and some others I'm probably forgetting. I'm really not good at these things.
Other games:
Ecco the Dolphin (Dreamcast): really liked this game while I played it, but I picked it up just before buying a PS2, and I disconnected the DC to make room for it. Oh, well. Gunvalkyrie: ARRRRGH DIE Splinter Cell: Seemed fun, but later on, I thought it got too linear, too much trial and error to find the "right" way to get through a room. Haven't picked up the sequels yet, probably never will. Arcanum: Bugs, godawful balance issues Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines: Bugs, performance issues Baldur's Gate 2: Bugs Icewind Dale: I just flat out loathed this game Planescape Torment: for some reason which eludes me Monkey Island: just can't find the time anymore to pixel hunt like I used to... Phantasy Star Online III: Played this for about ten minutes, hated it. Should have rented it first. The Sims 2: keep running out of flamethrower ammo on the last boss, can't turn off the lava, screw this Black and White: I keep uninstalling this for hard drive space then reinstalling it to try to beat it, but it takes like a month to get past the frickin' tutorial, and doing anything in the game takes hours, so I haven't had it on my hard drive for a long enough period of time to finish it. Rune: got boring after engaging in the ten millionth epic ballad of Me Vs. Some Plant or Crab Homeworld: got frustrating, too much trial-and-error Okami: Why hasn't this game ended yet? Return to Castle Wolfenstein: So boring... zombies, take entire clips of ammo to kill, move so slowly.... must stay awake... Ace Ventura, Pet Detective: where the hell did I even get this? Man, there's piles of crap back here... Sonic R, Frank Herbert's Dune, Septerra Core, Heavy Metal FAKK, Turok 2, is that Inca? Oh man...

Holy shit I hate you for making me think of such a subject.
Since I haven't done much on console for the past few years, I'll focus just on all of my PC games.
In no particular order:
Vampire: Bloodlines - I got to the part of the city that had strip clubs. Buggy damn game. I just lost interest. I never beat the original either, but I don't own it.
Age of Empire II, III - Pfft, campaigns? Random Maps all the way, also with buddies.
Kohan II - Got tough, lost interest, played multi/random a lot.
Nox - Great game, but the fucking repair bills just became punitive towards the end of the game. I couldn't get enough money to keep my gear working.
Operation Flashpoint - Perhaps one of THE hardest FPS I have ever played.
Giants: Citizen Kabuto - Came bundled with one of my video cards way back when. Not sure I ever played it after I installed it once.
Dungeon Siege I, II - I ran into an odd bug in DS I where I could no longer advance. DS II just became kind of dull, even while I was WTFPWNing everything.
Medieval: Total War: I love the game, but god damn does it take forever to get shit done. Also, there was some kind of fatal flaw in my tactics and army composition that I could never figure out. The AI would just keep throwing stupid pavis-shield crossbowmen at me, and all my units would just give up.
Start Trek Armada - One of the worst UIs EVER.
Tomb Raider II - While I had a lot of fun with the first game, the second...not so much. I disliked this game so much that in high school I bored holes into the CD for use in the construction of a mousetrap-driven "car" in a physics class.
Arcanum - Buggy, imbalanced PoS. Apparently, it was fairly pointless to even try and make a sort of balanced/hybrid character, because you would not only be locked out of the best gear from both disciplines, but magic attacks would one-shot you because you're not strong in magic.
Starcraft - Yawn...well, I beat the original, but not the expansion.
HoMM V - Eh, I'll get to it some day.
That's all I can find at the moment.

Gawd. Where to begin? I'll make it easy. Here are the games I've actually completed: Subtract that from damn near every game released for PC and consoles from 88 until now.
Super Mario Brothers 2 The Elder Scrolls: Arena Legend of Kyrandia I Ys Books I and II Phantasy Star II Sonic the Hedgehog Gauntlet II Final Zone II Valis II Doom I and II Lands of Lore (well, sort of. I got very close to the end but frigged up a save somewhere and couldn't back up so I gave up.)
I have digital ADD.
Edit: The most important game I ever finished: Raiders of the Lost Ark for the 2600. Took about 6 months and without the hint book. Now that was accomplishment considering how obtuse that game really was.

Wow.. people who don't finish more games than I don't. Now I don't feel bad at all.
Will Never Finish: Icweind Dale II - "Hey look, all the combat, none of the story of Baldur's Gate!" Dungeon Siege - When I literally fell asleep within the first 3 hours, I knew I was done. Elder Scrolls III - Suckwind. I don't know why I bothered even picking this up, I couldn't get into the first two Elder Scrolls when my buddy in college gave them to me. Diablo II - I didn't know what I was getting into when I bought it. The guys in the office seemed into it and I'd never played the first. I wasn't impressed
Should go back and finish: Planescape - Switched computers in the middle of playing this, and haven't ever reloaded it. I have the saves somewhere. Bounty Hunter - I'm on the last 1/3 of the game but I got distracted and just haven't gone back to play again. Final Fantasy 9 - Kids erased my save game. I just didn't have the heart to start over Dragon's Quest 8 - Bought Disagea 2 and stopped playing for it. Disagea 2 - Been busy lately and fighting L45 NPCs with a L29-32 group kinda sucks. I really don't want to grind in a console game.

Game I did beat that seems to be on lots of lists: Vampire: Bloodlines. I got it after it had been out for quite a while, and several unofficial patches. No serious bugs other than choppy performance (but I have a lousy PC).
Not completed, and been mentioned before: Starcraft expansion. I even installed it again about a year ago, and got about to where I'd gotten first time around. I'd kinda like to see the final cinematic, but don't want to play anymore, although I did like the game.
Eternal Darkness. I liked it a fair bit, just sort of lost interest. No real reason, and I'm very near the end. Just... eh.
GTA San Andreas: I dunno. It was a fun game for the first while, but the novelty wore off. I guess part of it is that the main character isn't likeable at all and makes no pretense about it. I enjoy morally ambiguous or tortured characters, but not "I haven't killed enough today" ones. After a couple missions that were frustrating to complete, akin to graphical versions of a MUD's "guess the verb/noun", I quit.
Medieval Total War: I had about half of Europe, and hit a strange scenario: a bunch (about a third) of my countries would rebel, despite stating that they were happy (all green). When they would rebel, they would spawn an obscene amount of troops and leave my empire with such a broken economy and swiss cheese border that it would have been exceptionally difficult to recover from. I reloaded multiple times and from several years back to try and avoid the issue, but there didn't seem to be any cause whatsoever. Only thing I can figure is the game decided I was doing too well, and needed a bigger threat. Screw that. Otherwise I enjoyed the combat aspect of the game.

It's really more a case of what games have I finished. I've never really been bothered by it, as long as I get a decent amount of play out the game.
Games that have a finish that I have actually finished: Kotor 1 and 2 NWN - Hordes Halflife 2 Diablo 1 & 2 (first difficulty only)
That's about all I can think of, and despite this I still am a huge fan of games like Baldur's Gate, the Elder Scrolls games, Vampire:Bloodlines, Arcanum - even if I never completely finished any of them.
I will say though - looking at the games that I did finsih completely - I think it says a lot for games with a quality enough of a story to make me want to finish them completely. Even if yoiu end up letdown by somethinglike KotoR 2.

Err, cough, cough. I don't think I've ever completed anything more complex than pong. And I didn't get that far in pong. But thanks for asking. Was my money wasted in doom or quake because I didn't finish? Even better, My number 1 game of all time. Vampire the masquerade bloodlines? Literly hundreds of hours played in glee. Ive gotten many clans to chinatown but never finished that game with any. Buy your reckoning I didn't get my moneys worth? I thought it was a bargin.

I don't think anyone is really complaining that they're not getting their money's worth by not completing a game...it just seems to be a common trait among gamers - not finishing games. It happens.

Eternal Darkness: Bad game.
Magic uses the analogy of spike, Johnny, and timmy. I'm not sure about johnny and timmy, but spike must win at all costs. Me I am just looking for entertainment. Problem solving, its more interactive than TV or a flick and I enjoy it more. WTF? Kingdom Hearts: Really bad, bad camera. Made me really angry at times. Decent story but the gameplay was wanting. GTA (everything): I can't beat these games, they're too damn long and I get distracted. Morrowind: Main quest was far less interesting that doing other shit. Okami: 30 hours in and I need a long break. FFX: Gave it back to my roomie before finishing. Arcanum: Ugliest game in existence. Shadow Hearts 3: Only 3 hours in, put it down. Will finish this. Shadow of the Colossus: started playing Shadow Hearts 1 and got hooked. Will finish this. Septerra Core (ok, kinda old): Derivative boring tripe. Decent story. The Longest Journey: Keeps getting interupted, no longer works on any of my pcs. Heroes of Might and Magic 5: Computer fucking cheats. Half Life: Gives me motion sickness About all I can think of at the moment. I'm a habitual game finisher.

Gives me motion sickness Ah yes, that reminds me: Psychonauts Great game, but it made me nauseous (in that fucked up, twisted, upside-down, suburb stage). I'm sure there's more recent ones I haven't listed, but I'm pretty good with finishing games. MMO's are a different story. The only one I've amounted to shit in, or rather, wanted to amount to shit in, was Shadowbane.

I don't typically buy a new game unless I'm finished with the most recent one I've bought, so the only time I don't finish a game is if I really just can't stand it. The only games in recent memory I didn't finish are:
Metroid Prime 2: Picked it up for a few bucks during the Green Tag Sale at Toys R Us. Didn't see the point of turning the Metroid into a series of dull FPS games.
Devil May Cry 3: Found the first game fun, but this one filled with levels that are pointlessly easy up until the tedious boss fights.
Burnout Revenge: Burnout 3 is better. Wasn't much point to playing this one too much.

PS2 Atelier Iris - Watched my roommate beat the last 2 dungeons and the bonus stuff. Beatmania - Yeesh. Hard stuff. Bujingai - Meh. Bully - Too new. Will be done in a month or 2. Colosseum - Want to finish it. Clock Tower 3 - Sucks. Kinda. Not really, but sucks. Castlevania: LoI - Not so hot. Cold Winter - Forgot I had it. Til Right Now. Crimson Sea 2 - Long game. Hard. Crimson Tears - I'd actually like to finish this one. Devil Kings - Weak. Simply haven't finished a few boards though. Devil May Cry - Unopened. Devil Summoner - Don't know how far I am into it, pretty far. Thus far have refused to look at strat guide walkthrough. Digital Devil Saga 2 - Sitting at the save point before the final boss. Don't want to grind because I fucked up one of my builds. Dirge of Cerberus - Meh Disaster Report - Almost done. Dragon Quest 8 - 80 hr. games are for middle schoolers and disaffected college kids. Drakengaard - Meh. Dual Hearts - Meh. Family Guy - Almost done. Fantavision - LOL. Fatal Frame 3 - Too scary. Front Mission 4 - Too long. Ghost Hunter - Keep restarting. Love the game though. Gladius - Want to finish. Won't. Graffiti Kingdom - I play it in spurts. God Hand - Hard. Won't consider finished until I beat the hidden difficulty level. .Hack//Quarantine (Vol. 4) - Heh, moved on to... .Hack//Rebirth - Too new. Not done. Hard Hitter Tennis - Bought to support Atlus. Not opened. Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland - Too brown. Haunting Ground - Almost done. Forgot about it. Kuon - Too strange to care. La Pucelle Tactics - Restarted about a month ago. Will finish by 2017. Does not play on my 37" LCD. Metal Gear Solid 3 - Don't give a shit. Metal Saga - Forgot about it, think I'm near completion. MS Saga - Want to finish. Nightmare of Druaga - Do games that don't end count? Okami - Long. One Piece Something Something - Think I'm 2 islands from the end. Phantom Brave - Worst NISA title if you ask me. Like the character design though. Radiata Stories - Watched roommate beat it. Resident Evil Outbreak File 2 - Meh. Rule of Rose - Just not gotten back to it. Samurai Champloo - About finished. Shadow Hearts 1 - Started with SH2, simply need to be motivated to go back to this since SH2 was so superior. Shadow Hearts 2 - Last area, I think. Shadow Hearts 3 - Heh. Kinda weak. Shadow of Rome - Last area. Shaman King - about 50% complete. SMT: Nocturne - LOL@This. Too much. Just too much to handle. Silpheed - Unopened. Have played it though elsewhere. Siren - Sucks. Steambot Chronicles - 80% complete or so... Stella Deus - Kinda put it down. Stretch Panic - Bought for design reasons. Suikoden Tactics - Came out during busy season, forgot about it. Tales of Legendia - Hm. Not sure why I haven't beaten it yet. Tales of the Abyss - Haven't started. Trapt - Keep wanting to get back to this. Yakuza - Long, about 30% of the way through it. Love it. Y's: Ark of Napishtim - Playing through it on my PSP. Zone of the Enders 1 - Got ZOE 2. Zone of the Enders 2 - About 50% of the way through.
Maybe I'll do the other systems some other day. Let's just say I like playing games and I have the worst case of Gamer ADD ever.

That's about 45% of my PS2 titles. Here's the breakdown by system of what percentage has been completed (roughly):
PS2: 55% (edited: can't do math - edited again: that's about 64 PS2 titles, I have about 150. I've beaten more than I thought.) Xbox: 75% DS/GBA: 90% (I tend to beat portable titles) PSP: 85-90% if you don't include remakes bought for nostalgic reasons (Valkyrie Profile, Mega Man, etc) PS1: 90% (Yea, I caught up when the PS2 first came out, I guess backwards compatibility matters) Atari Jaguar: 30% Dreamcast: 80% Xbox 360: 60% PC: 10%
Important things to note: I have far more PS2 titles than any other system. 50% is probably more than I own for every system from last gen put together (obviously other than PS2). Also, I really don't believe in used games. That's purely (completely and 100%) just giving your money to a store and not a dime to developers. I find that evil, reprehensible and ghetto. It's an expensive hobby, suck it up or take up knitting. When a game comes out that I MIGHT ever get back to, I buy it new and at the release cost. Sometimes I miss a title. Case in point: Cubivore for the Gamecube or Rez for the PS2. I bought them when I found them. Some shit is here and gone too fast. I'm lucky Walmart had a copy of Scurge for the DS or I never would have found it (charming Metroid/Boktai type thing). As for the low PC average - too many MMOGs and mostly online FPS & RTS titles. I don't consider them beaten, ever.
Game length: I will beat games I know are 8-15 hours or less. I'll make some exceptions, but without fail, shorter games will get beaten within 6 months of purchase. If they're on a portable system, 2-3 months from purchase. Portable systems take a lot of my time. I like putting on headphones and zoning out. Also, big RPGs wreck my plans. PSU and FFXII is abducting all my Devil Summoner, God Hand, and .Hack//Rebirth time. By the time the PS4/XB720 is announced, I'll probably have 90% of this last gen finished.
I always play games long enough to learn the systems and pass judgement.

You want to know why it's unopened? I'll tell you why. It's the only PS2 game I own with a red fucking strip. I missed the series the first time around and ended up with a greatest hit. I plan on trading that fucker in at EBGames tomorrow and picking up the new box set for $29.99 - where I can get all 3 - including the previously only released with red stripe special edition of 3 - with no red stripes at all. And it'll be awesome. There aren't words for how much "greatest hits" branding drives me nuts. I have, total, maybe 8 or 9 games with that shit and a lot of them are uopened.

I think the problem is that for the most part, we're all in our 20's and 30's and let's face it, we have lives. When I was a teenager and still single, living at home, etc., I had aaaaaallllllll the time in the world. Then I got the wife, the kid, the car, the job, and the poodle. No time. And EQ didn't help matters any.

Hitman 1 - Trial and error bullshit. I'm not replaying an hour long level because one guard saw me. Asheron's Call - Yeah, I know you don't "beat" an MMO, but I quit this after like a week. Boring. World of Warcraft - It's Diablo II fagged up with some Everquest shit. Morrowind - I went around doing sandbox stuff until I got bored of it. Any Grand Theft Auto - Likewise. Ultima III - Just kinda lame. Ultima V - See Morrowind. Ultima IX - Sucked, and would barely run on my machine of that era, listed specs be damned. Reach for the Stars - Shitty space empire game. Just sucked too hard to play much. Xenogears - Lost interest after things turned stupid on the second disc. Dungeon Siege - Terrible.

Schild is insane.
As an aside, he could use a lot of the games he doesn't like/will never finish to furnish contest prizes. :-D

I don't think he parts with games and stuff to do with games. He is even willing to collect other people's old shit. I sent him a box of stuff I didn't want anymore and will probably send him another soon-ish. He's like a pain in the arse rubbish bin that you have to buy a stamp for.

Devil May Cry - Unopened.
How can you call yourself a PS2 gamer and not even have played DMC? One decent mindless action game with some of the crappiest dialogue and voice acting I've ever heard, followed by two dull rehashes. Yeah, it's a real shame he's missing out on that.

I'll admit that the only reason I've finished Starcraft, WC3 and any other RTS game I've bought is cheats. I hit a point at which I can no longer take the stupidity of my units and just turn-on "God Mode" then proceed to pound the NPC into the ground with 2-3 units until I see the end of the game. I'd be better served if RTS' with decent stories just came out with movie discs that showed all the cut scenes & plot.

Hmmm, cheats. Never thought about that. I always torture myself through the later half of those games just because I want to know how the story ends.
