I hope I am talking about the games. I'm somewhat addled today. I expected to be playing right now since I saw "Oct 17" on 1up when I did a hasty search, but no. Instead, I'm downloading Planescape: Torment.

From what I know, a new "series" of Sam and Max games are being developed by Telltale. Their plan is to develop them like a TV series, releasing "episodes" from time to time.
They've made a deal with Gametap that grants subscribers access to Episode 1 today (the 17th). The official release is November 1st however.
Gametap is also rerunning old Sam and Max animated episodes as well.
Took me long enough, but I am in fact playing the Sam and Max: Culture Shock game. So far it's pretty good.
