About the only thing more disturbing you could possibly show your kids would be Watership Down. I will NEVER look at rabits the same way again. That movie seriously messes with your head, especially when you are young and impressionable.

Since we are rehashing horrible and traumatic animated movies from our childhoods... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secret_of_NIMHI really think this was worse than Watership Down. Not as bad as The Dark Crystal, but damn close.

Secret of Nymh was no where NEAR as mentally disturbing as Watership Down. It was mildy creepy, but on a general level, fairly standard faire. Watership Down had VIVID images of animated rabits getting Gassed as they struggled to get out of collapsing burrows, which were then BULDOZED under with said rabits still in them. It had an incredibly VICIOUS fight scene between a few of the rabits, and loads of other stuff that was much more disturbing. Especially cause it was FREAKIGN RABITS.

Animals killing animals... meh. Humans being evil to small mammals, very not safe for children. Plus, rabbits...

Hmmm, which screwed me up more, those black silhouettes of rabbits being snared or when the farmer started tilling the field and destroyed the mice's home. I can't really say as I had successfully blocked both those images out of my memory until you bastards reminded me.
As far as I'm concerned the only thing that happened in watership down was that seagull landing badly and then saying "perfect landing" ahhahah. The rest of the movie is dead to me. Good times.
Edit: Oh great, and now I just remembered the lab scene and that creepy black spirit rabbit. Damn you.
