What's special about ice from Sonic?

They use one of those flake icers instead of one that makes solid cubes.  It's fantastic.

Yeah, it doesn't do much for me.  In fact, I find it kind of irritating.

Edit:  The nearest Sonic is 40 miles away, the ice won't hold up well even in a cooler I think.  Maybe I can find a substitute around town here...

Got a Frisch's or Bob's Big Boy?  I believe they use flake icers nationally as well.  The local ones do at least.

Yeah, it doesn't do much for me.  In fact, I find it kind of irritating.

Yeah but you're an ortho and don't chew ice.  I bet you floss too, ya freak.  DRILLING AND WOMANLINESS

On another note; I just read they added Vader's EP3 "Noooooooooooooooo" to the scene where he tosses the Emperor in ROTJ.   awesome, for real Ohhhhh, I see.

There's a leaked video out of it. I'm not sure if it's legit or not but they added him saying "no" and then yelling it when he picks up the Emporer. The second "no" is much worse than the first and I think it's the same audio from EP3. I'd link it but I'm at work and they don't like youtube.

Now for 10 pages of Star Wars...

More pellet sized than flakes.  Cools better cubes, doesn't get slushy like shaved ice, and is easy to chew.

A search calls it cubelets.  I call them rabbit pellets.

Hahahaha!  I'm really good at this!

I seriously don't understand how any of you can eat fast food.  It's like eating a hot pocket.  Ewww.

I don't eat much fast food these days, but neither am I a vegetarian.  Nor do I do fountain drinks often (gives me problems).  I just like Sonic ice.

Chic-Fil-A is about all I eat anymore for fast food.  It's hard to fuck-up or over-calorie a simple chicken breast on a bun.  They don't even put mayo on it, you do that yourself if you want it.  Plus the Deluxe (lettuce & tomato) Spicy breast w/ Pepper Jack is awesome.

Sonic is all about the drinks.  They're delicious.  The food itself is terrible and I've only eaten there once.  Never again.  It's like someone left a McDonalds burger out, then reheated it in a microwave, it's that terrible.

I think Chik-Fil-A uses that kind of ice as well.

Ours do cubes.  I hate cubes.

Lant - Ah, yeah that might be it.  I couldn't find anything other than flake or cube under a quick commercial search.

Agreed. But they are stingy with how small their sandwiches are now versus how big I remember them as a kid in the 70's.

I just get a mess of their nuggets.  Get some of their honey roasted BBQ sauce on them and... OHH GOD.

Recently Culvers opened up a few places in Tucson.  I think that's a mid-west place.  Completely decent.

You folks spend too much time discussing fast food joints that don't exist on my end of the continent.

Around here its McD's, KFC, A&W, BK (eww), Church's, Wendy's. Or, if you prefer fast food you can identify before eating, Quiznos and Subway.

I eat fast food about once a week so that I can keep digesting it.

The chicken is pretty good at Chick-Fil-A, but the fresh lemonade and fries are the selling point for me.

I'll confess that I will eat Subway and Quiznos in a pinch, though "salad-on-bread" barely counts as fast food.

If I want to cross the border, they have them in Seattle, but they've never worked their way up here.

Generally, the only fastfood I eat is the occasional McDonalds - always a chicken sandwich of some sort - only because there is a McDonalds about 500' from the front door of the office. Otherwise, its an occasional KFC binge, or my once every two or three month A&W double teen burger (which I could eat every day, if I didn't like living so much).

I'd much rather spend ten bucks on take out Sushi - which I do at least twice a week.

I genuinely enjoy Taco Bell; I think I might be broken. Or maybe it's just because as a vegetarian it's the only fast food I can actually eat. You know, when I want to feel like a real 'murriken.

Culver's is a Wisconsin based chain. Burgers are ok, and if you are a fan of crinkle fries that is your place.

The thing I like best is that they have Gulden's Spicy Brown Mustard in packets.

Also, their frozen custard is good stuff.

They opened one up the road about 18 months ago.  The burgers were too expensive for fast food but were too greasy for a decent meal.  They were ok but not a place that would draw me back if I were still eating fast food regularly.   However, their shakes were fantastic.  In October they have a pumpkin spice one that is soooo very good if you're a  pumpkin pie lover like myself. *

*Speedway also has awesome Pumpkin Spice cappuccino from October to December.  Mmmm.

I used to work at Taco Bell.  I still eat there sometimes, like I'm derranged or something.  I'm suspicous of everything they serve.

Rice.  Taco Bell rice recipe was: rice packet, "spice", 1 quart water, and one ice-cream-scoop of lard.

Do not ask about the meat.

Do not ask about the meat.
Friends of mine in high school who worked there used to talk about it.  Apparently it came in a giant plastic bag that was frozen, was dumped in a giant machine that was essentially a spatula on a motor of some kind, and other oddities.  They used to call it the "meat beater" and how they had to go in the back to "beat their meat" for food prep in that way that only high schoolers find funny ;-)

Ah, Jack in the Box super tacos.  Each individual ingredient taken on its own was a disgusting blob of fowl, greasy shit.  But the sum of the parts added up to something awesome.

If you've never tried Chipotle, do so.  Faster than fast food, but they make their food out of really high quality stuff. and it's still completely affordable.  Tastes amazing.
