I thought about Lasik until both the guys who I know that got it in '03 said they now had nightvision problems.   Additionally, they were both told they'd need reading glasses sooner than they otherwise would. I know the older of them was told by his eye doctor last year he should consider getting reading glasses, so looks like that's held up as he's only 49.

I got lasik in 2002 and need to wear glasses at night (my night vision was always poor, Lasik didn't make it better or worse) and I wear them in classrooms, meetings with presentations or when I'm sitting on the couch playing videogames. Small details are pretty fuzzy for me.

However, part time glasses and not needing them or contacts to play sports makes Lasik worth it to me. I'd do it all again if I had the chance.

I have an astigmatism in both eyes and was able to wear soft contacts before the surgery. I have no idea what kind they were, but they were 'wear 8 hours a day' and lasted me about 6 months.

Have you tried the internet? It's made out of millions of people missing the point of everything and then getting angry about it

Human Resources is like a boot stamping the human face forever. It is a never-ending source of bullshit regulations and petty authoritarianism. It is the kudzu of professional life.

What pink nail polish thing?

Is it another one of those bullshit teenage sex myth things, like 'rainbow parties' and 'pregnancy pacts'?

Oh, it's one of those gender hysteria pieces of shit that keeps popping up.

I think I prefer the stupid stories about teenage sex orgies. The comments are less annoying.

When news stations are on around the clock, they need something to fill the space.  So silly "news" stories like this get trotted out.

On a different note, anyone know of a decent ad blocker for IE8?  I'm stuck using it at work and the adverts when I hit some of my sites/forums is annoying the hell out of me.  I had one called Ad Block Pro (or similar) but that was only a 30 day trial.

There is a build in one. You'll need to find an up-to-date file with what hosts to block and import that into inPrivate filtering.

Le google can probably tell you more.

I motion to suspend the word 'super' for a period of no less than a year.

So tired of "super" cute or "super" fun.

Why would anyone in their right mind believe Sky knows what was "in" to the point that he could bring about a motion to stop some fad?

Doesn't he live in a hut in the black forest or something raising badgers in his lumberbeard?
