I've made a pretty strong effort to cut down my caffeine/coffee intake over the years, so I try to limit myself to about 16-20oz in the morning How much did you drink before you started to cut back?? One 6oz cup of black coffee in the morning and afternoon is enough to keep me going through the day. If I had 16-20oz, I'd look like I was having a seizure.

It's an accepted fact in my office that a long line at Tim Horton's in the morning is a legit reason for being late.
Large Timmie's on the way in - one cream no sugar. A cup or two of whatever we brew in the coffee pot the next cubicle over (office machines make shit coffee). Weekends are usually started with a double espresso out of my home machine, a decent Krupps.
Been drinking coffee for about 25 years and I've never intentionally put sugar in it once.
Tim Horton's does not serve coffee.

I'm going to take this opportunity to recommend Raven's Brew. http://www.ravensbrew.com/NewFiles/coffees.htmlFor me, it's been the best coffee going the past seven or eight years. If I can't get it, the sweet, sweet mix of cream & sugar from Dunkin' Donuts comes next.

Tim Horton's does not serve coffee.
Which is countered by the facts that they have a fast morning drivethrough, serve a consistent tasting coffee like beverage, and disguise it's averageness with 18% cream. I like high end coffee as much as anyone, but I'll take Tim's over any fastfood place or gas station any day. Tim's serves the kind of coffee I want to drink at 6:00 AM - mild and easy to drink.

I used to easily be a pot and a half, two pots a day guy. Now, its really just a cup with breakfast and a travel mug on the way into the office.

The brilliance of Tims is in their steeped tea! It's the only place I've been that serves it pre-brewed! I think it was Dan Savage that complained of standing behind someone with a 20 step coffee-drink order (double no whip shaken and not stirred with foam and poured while standing on your head) and when you order tea, all you get is a bag and a cup of hot water. Can't even get the arseholes to put the bag in the cup for you!

Yes, I wish that Tim Hortons would offer more than just Orange Pekoe for their steeped product.
As for Starbucks, the Earl Grey Latte (London Fog) and the Green Tea Latte (I always order it without the overly sweet melon syrup) are pretty damn good.

Orange pekoe is a grade of tea not a type of tea. Also Starbucks' tea is just horrid.

We get a lot of our teas from a place called Teavana. They've got a lot of nice white aromatic teas that are caffeine free, so that's good. I've been fairly impressed with the quality of the teas we've tried.

Which just demonstrates that Tim Horton's knows shit all about tea. Orange Pekoe refers to the grade of leaves used, it has nothing to do with the type of bushes that the leaves came from.
Calling your tea an Orange Pekoe without identifying the origin is like saying 'we have cans of drink' without identifying the flavours.

That's a little broad. It would be like saying we have cans of cola without telling you the brand.
Because tea is still tea.

Only if you limit your definition of tea to 'black tea of a specific type which is probably an English Breakfast blend'. Darjeeling and Lapsang Souchong for example are in no way similar despite both being black teas.

If you ever have a chance to go to a Tim Horton's, you will quickly find out that they know nothing about food nor do they know anything about beverages.

Teavana is cool. I think it was they who taught me not to make tea with a fully boiled kettle. I like some of their blends.

I just think it's awesome you know what lapsang souchong is. I drink a lot of tea and it's good tea too. I import most of the stuff I drink because it's hard to find decent tea here in Germany. I absolutely hate going to the US because not only do they have shitty tea, they also cannot make it properly. I have to ask for the water to be actually boiling and they still bring it to the table with a pot of water that's barely above lukewarm.

Orange pekoe is a grade of tea not a type of tea. Well, up here it is a type, and that is the only choice: When I first moved to Seattle, I tried to order plain, black, unflavored, unmixed tea. I asked for Orange Pekoe, because, yeah, it's considered a type where I'm from, too (and it basically just means black, unflavoured, unmixed tea that doesn't taste like grass). They looked at me like I had 2 heads. I've basically given in and will order "English Breakfast" or "Aware" if I need a caffeine jolt, and some random flavoured one if I don't..

Green Tea drinker here, I quit coffee almost 4 years ago. As a tea drinker you are definately a second class citizen when it comes to most hotels. A comfort suites I stay at a lot does this: One dispenser of regular coffee, one of decaf, and one tepid *hot* water dispenser that has been used to hold coffee before so your tea tastes like ass.
At this point I just go right into the hotels *kitchen* and grab hot water directly from the little hot water lever they have on the thing that actually brews the coffee.

It's considered a type amongst people who know zero things about tea. Basically people who see the words 'orange pekoe' on a teabag packet but have no idea what relevance the words 'Assam', 'Ceylon' or 'Darjeeling' have. Tea leaves have grades. Orange Pekoe (actually it's almost always Broken Orange Pekoe) is the standard shitty grade for supermarket tea, fannings are the even shittier sweepings that budget teabags are made from. Flowery Orange Pekoe is a higher quality grade made with whole leaves and above that you get into the realms of TGFOP (Tippy Golden Orange Pekoe) and FTGFOP (Finest Tippy Flowery Orange Pekoe or Far Too Good For Ordinary People). Those grades are mostly just used for black teas though, green, white, yellow and Oolong teas have different and fairly arbitrary grading systems.

Egads, most hotels I stay in have a wide selection of teas in the room, but I usually travel with a few packets of spicy chai tea and a second flush darjeeling. One of these days I will travel with green tea, but probably better not to give the customs officials an excuse. My main complaint in hotels is that the mugs in the rooms are almost always too small.

I like real Chinese restaurants in the US, they bring actually boiling pots of water to the table for the tea.

I can't stand the taste of coffee. I wake up in the morning an hour early to pop 3 200mg caffeine pills washed down with diet Mt. Dew or Pepsi max (46 mg per 8 fl oz woo!) and then go back to sleep for an hour until they kick in and I have a 2 litre with me at all times at home and in the car (or, sometimes, school.)
It's been a decade since I've felt the effects of sleep deprivation.
