Today has been full of thunder and lightning.

And Rosati's is terrible, terrible pizza. Giordano's, Eduardo's, or even Lou Malnati's is better by far. I'd put Rosati's in line with dominos.

I've had Rosati's a few times, nothing especially memorable about it, IMO.  We usually get Nick's thin crust or Riverview (both local eateries) for pizza, although Papa John's is a regular choice as well.  *shrug*  We typically get thin crust though because that's what the husband prefers.  I wouldn't mind a nice deep dish every once in a while, although the rare occasions when I do have some, one slice is more than enough and leftover deep dish just gets soggy. :(

Gloomy fucking day (and cold, which isn't helping my cold any) plus a few big storms roaring through here this evening.  Which is making me all concerned about my new mulch getting washed away by the craptastic downspouts installed on the house.  They're too high and when water is rushing out fast, it hits the ground right about where I ended the edges of the landscape areas around the house.  It's going to take tweaking the placement of the rocks I'm using to get things right.  Yardwork can really suck sometimes, even when I enjoy doing it and love how it's looking now.

I can't remember a night of having my sleep disturbed so much due to thunder, lightning and vicious rainfall.  And now it's going to rain all damn day.  Couple of roads I had to drive across this morning were already borderline flooded, can't wait to see how they look this afternoon.

Weather in London is the nicest it's ever been while I've been visiting.  Partly cloudy, cool but not cold.  Perfect walking around weather.

Yeah, some of the lightning last night was spectacular. And loud. And the buckets of rain made me very glad I put a new roof on the house last spring.

On the plus side, there was a wild turkey in the yard this morning eating the corn I put out for the squirrels/woodchucks. Not really what I expect living in the middle of a city.

I do the same thing.  I put out a wildlife mix for squirrels and bunnies in the back where there's big windows and patio doors instead of just birdseed.   Running from window to window is sometimes the only exercise Lister will put up with.  Sometimes he runs back and forth for hours.  Coupled with his new diet, he should be less round in short order!  Maybe.  It doesn't matter what I put out, though, we have a bajillion squirrels, bunnies, giant prairie dog gopher thingys, all sorts of wildlife.  I still get the songbirds, cardinals, blue jays and huge American crows (my favourite crow!), too, though -  just mostly on the other side of our deck.  Everybody's happy.  I don't care about the neighbours.

Results of the storms last night:

Taken from my upstairs office, so I apologize for the screen in the way.  Back edge of my property where the creek runs.  There's 4-ish feet of rock edge on top of a railroad tie wall (4-5 ties high) hidden under all that water.  Plus in the first pic, you can kind of see through the water near the tree how much yard/grass is covered as well.

Oh, and called to get an update on the interviews I had last Thursday.  As I suspected, hadn't heard from the next higher up manager for another phone interview which means I didn't make it.  Ah well, more interview experience, I guess.

I immediately thought of 3D Dot Game Heroes.  Also, sorry for your wetness.

I'm just enjoying this sweet Scottish accent I've recently picked up. Although that reminds me I'm going to Edinburgh this weekend since a couple of friends are taking part in the marathon. Apart from whisky shops (which I'm already definitely going to) anything else that's particularly fun or interesting? I've been a couple of times but the last one was about 3 years ago with some people I didn't really like and no money.
