It's a crime Serbia didn't get through!
Wish I had a TV so I could actually watch the craziness, is Graham Norton anywhere near Wogan's quasi-inebriated commentary?

Went ahead and had a home alarm system installed. I am extremely pleased with the technician who installed it along with the product; ADT 4tw!

No Nerf, but I put a link to this very thread and I said that you all can guarantee for my purity. I even mentioned your case, and see if they can take a look at your lawn from a Michigan perspective.

I wonder how many fines ADT has had to pay for spamming people with marketing calls despite the DNC registry? I've reported them at least six times in the last month. They're getting right up there with the car warranty people and the company that does those not very legit police/veteran/fireman calls that pretend to be local.

After months of annoyance and trying everything, except formating until now, my machine is finally running well again. Anything rough on my graphics card would crash it in five to ten minutes. It's good to be able to play games again.

Just had what is being reported as a 5.0 earthquake centered about a mile from where I live.
First I thought it was the people upstairs jumping around or something. Then I realized it was pretty intense for jumping.
Then it was over and I remembered that my laundry was probably done and it was time to put it in the dryer.

I always worry about my TV and my monitor when these little earthquakes hit, cause I'm afraid the damn things are going to fall over and break. They're honestly pretty stable, but I'm paranoid about them.

Make sure you let your home insurance company know. There's typically a discount for having a home alarm system.

Having a big garden for the first time in my adult life, I planted a lot of vegetables and fruit. It's amazingly exciting seeing it all blossoming and breaking into leaves and so on. Being Scottish, I'm particularly delighted that I now have three rows of twenty plants each of different breeds of potatoes.
The whole weeding and hoeing thing is a bit tricky, though, since I can't see how to tell one plant from another until the ones meant to be there show as a neatly-spaced row, by which time they have had to compete with plenty of weeds for ages.

That's why I went with growing my veggies as seedlings first, then transplanted them. However, your garden sounds a lot bigger than the garden I did, which is only about 90 plants.

I was going to do a garden this year, but I'll need to do a whole fence deal around it, and probably for a distance under it. At least five varieties of varmints from rabbit up through deer regularly hang out in my yard. Fiancee thinks it's cute. I should make her build the fence, but then again, I do want it to be effective.

My garden's about an acre, but mostly under orchard, so the vegetable plot is only about 20 metres by 8, of which I'm planting only half this year. I did what i think you are describing, too: I grew a lot of stuff from early in the season (Scottish weather!) under glass, and have been transplanting them out after hardening them off in cloches. what amazes me is the success rate: I had expected huge amounts of failures both at germination and transplanting, but of sixty potatoes, all are now needing earthed up; of thirty beans and peas only one failed to germinate; of seventy onions planted a fortnight ago, all but a couple are now growing and so on. Only some of the leafer seedlings have suffered in transplanting, along with about 20% of the asparagus and sweet potatos (which arrived as slips in a bad way). Modern seed companies and vegetable varieties are pretty awesome.

You underestimate the ability of people to impale and/or cut themselves on sharp objects.
Edit: and it's a good thing the dearly departed Ms. Dent didn't get hold of one of those.

I bet Jimbo could answer this. My ex is an ER doc and the things she sees on a daily basis make my head spin.

Well in your case, a hoe would not be your tool. Get a soil auger.

I don't even know what 4x3 foot holes are for.

Also, the reason the sharp hoe would be nice is because it's all fucking clay... At least where it isn't rocks.

The kind that turns into a big tree? You want to leave plenty of room around the rootball for a mix of native and nutrient filled soil, so you make a big hole.
Or you could be in Phoenix putting in palm trees, where they'd make a narrow deep hole, and then cut off any roots that didn't fit.

If I could get Mexican Coke around here I'd let you know. I can't get Kosher Coke, either, and I've been looking for both for years now.
