I'm wondering if there's a more bittersweet feeling in the world than finding out the lovely young lady you work with and have liked and respected for five years is actually attracted to you much more than you ever knew.
My fiancee trusts me, but I'm a very charismatic man and it's my nature to flirt with women. Makes me feel good, I know I can still pick up very attractive women, quite easily. Still have my gift. But I don't see it as bittersweet, because I'm so much happier with my girl than playing the market. You should be happy you've still got it, gramps. And happier still that you have a good life.

Also, everything is better with my avatar around.

Dear Miss Manners,

When a guy on the internet declares himself "charismatic" what's the appropriate response?

God Damn that man could take a photo.

Ironwood: Awesome man.  It happens.  Sucks for her to be pinning for you though.  Hope she's not stuck up on you too bad.

Schild: Damn dude.  Dunno what to tell you.  Next time I'm in Austin, drinks on me? I'll even come pick you up this time :)

Don't worry too much about Schild, he just needs a few more subscribers for his cult/pyramid scheme thingy.

Me neither. I buried ours under cardboard and a foot of compost. Now we have vegetables, flowers and a peach tree instead.

You're clearly not married nor in a management position you'd like to keep.   swamp poop

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to take a nude picture of myself for Wayabvpar.  I have no idea how that's going to help him or me, but he did ask.

I'll try to get most of the length down the left side.  It's my best profile.

You know, if they ever made a Thomas Covenant film, I'd like Hugh Laurie to play the leper.

Which means the Doc in the follow up could be played by any of his House women.

Hugh Laurie would be pretty much perfect as Covenant. The only problem I could see would be that he might have trouble not just playing him as House given how similar the two characters are in their bitterness and misery.

That's not a problem.  Covenant is NOT FUNNY.

Not even remotely.  He has had a sense of humour burned out of him.

The main problem with doing it, of course, is that no-one understands lepers anymore.  It's cureable.

I didn't want to make a thread with this topic, nor did I want to clog up any of the threads in the TV section either.

I've never watched any of the Stargate TV shows until a month ago or so.  I'm now up to season 6 and now I've started thinking about all the other programs associated with it.

How would you recommend someone wanting to see everything watch the series?  Right now I'm thinking about finishing up the SG-1 series then watching Atlantis from beginning to end then the movies or whatever.  And there is a SG:Universe coming out later this year?

I know it doesn't matter in the end but I'm attempting to get the timeline in order in my head.

There was some overlap between SG-1 and Atlantis in the last couple of seasons but if you just watch SG-1 all the way through to the end you won't spoil Atlantis for yourself or anything. You could watch the SG-1 movies before starting in on Atlantis if you like. They're really nothing more than long episodes of the TV show.

Yeah, do SG-1 then the movies to wrap everything up. I'm a fan of the shows, but TW was dicking around with channels and I missed most of the last two seasons, wish they weren't so $$$ on DVD. I'd like to watch the last two seasons and movies, but don't have the dough for it (or the time to rent them).

I was jamming with Atlantis on UniHD, but they moved that and fucked up my DVR setup for Atlantis and BSG. Fucking time warner.

Keep an eye on Hulu. They are planning to put all of SG-1 up there eventually. Right now they just have season 1.

hey does anyone make an interactive (for lack of a better word) news/rss reader? something suitable for a media center type of situation. something similar to maybe Apple's rss screensaver, but controllable with a remote? Curious about other platforms too, not just Mac. Something that scrolls on it's own too btw (but can be paused).

I just ordered a Blu Ray burner for my PC.  I needed to share that here, because my wife doesn't seem to care or find it noteworthy in the least.
