I spent $110 on a haircut yesterday.
I hope it was a Korean barber shop. No, but close enough. I get the joke, but I did seek out someone who was more familiar with Asian hair better than others. It was at a uppity salon, but what the hell. No blowjob, but I got good coffee and snacks, and made a friend out of the coloring chick.

I've spent 110 pounds on haircuts in my time. Bleached hair is painful to acquire in almost every way.
Vanity was a harsh mistress.
When I bleached my hair, long ago, I paid $10 for a kit and did it at home. It was quick and painless. What were you doing, bleaching all of your body hair too? Yeah, I used to bleach my hair too.. It's not expensive, and easier to do yourself than other things. I only went in for a haircut which was relatively cheap, but re-coloring my hair came to mind and it ended up becoming expensive as hell. On the other hand, my hair doesn't feel like shit compared to when I dye myself.

I laughed and then realised that pretty much every man who's spent more than a couple of years in places like Thailand or Vietnam is creepy.
I could not agree more, they make me feel ill.

That doesn't even touch the one the guy told me about the time him and his friends thought they'd killed a hooker. I'd actually known him for a couple of months, he thought it was a really hilarious anecdote

I'm pretty sure any story that involves the Almost Killing rather than the Killing of a hooker is more funny than anything else.

Well, hearing that a guy likes to hold a book in each hand and slam them in to a hooker's head is much less funny than hearing about the time a guy was fucking a hooker with so much bravado that a bookshelf near the bed fell over and smashed in to her head.

Karaoke bar where you pay to have women serve you drinks, keep you company, entertain you and possibly pay a bar fine to leave the bar with for a period of time. Popular in Japan, Korea, China, the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore. Also can be found in Asian districts of North America and Europe.

Apparently my mum's in the hospital, it's not serious but it's not not serious. My aunt is clearly a natural born doctor. Gonna wait till tomorrow to see if she's any better and then hop a train down south to sit by her bed and look concerned while she feels horrible since that's probably the least I owe her. Cracking open some whiskey to celebrate...

I want to say something consoling but I'm not sure it's appropriate. Your post has completely confused me, NowhereMan.

Heh, sorry if it sounded odd. It's not that I don't want to or anything it's more that I'm pretty sure she's not in any kind of danger just feeling horrible. They've only started her on antibiotics a day ago or so so I'm waiting to see if she shows rapid improvement. I'd like to go down and see her but I've also got a couple of deadlines coming up that travelling around would fuxxor with. I know she's not alone since there's 2 or 3 of her sisters around and my brother so I don't feel I absolutely need to be at her bedside. If she's not much better by tomorrow though I'll go down and repay her for all the times she looked after me when I was ill.
The whiskey thing should probably have been in green though...

Umm... I don't I just don't think there's anything life threatening and while I wanted to tell someone (the house being empty) I didn't want anyone here thinking I was running off to comfort my dying mother. I probably should spend some time learning how to compose posts.
rapidedit: Ok I can see where the weirdness of the first post was. I really did just want to tell someone and I hate bothering people I know, especially if the only ones I would bother are too far away to actually talk to at the time, so I told you guys but I didn't want to make out that my mother was dying or anything. She's been taken to intensive care since her fever went up so I'm heading home to sit around and hopefully make her feel better. She'll be fine but I'm also putting up with my aunts now who seem to be mostly convinced that I'm not going to bother seeing her and that she might die, which is a drag but at least I get to see my mum again. While the celebrate is in green the whiskey bit wasn't, hope someone else is having a good weekend.

I was just joking around. You just seemed a little callous explaining the scenario. If there was no major damage and she wasnt like directly requesting my presence i wouldn't go either.

Seemed like a perfectly normal way of responding to the situation to me. I wouldn't sweat it.

Go spend time with your mother. The hospital is a scary and lonely place and even if it's not serious, your support will mean a lot.
My father's last words were "I feel fine". Sometimes you never know how serious the situation is.

Very similar to my experience. My dad was in the hospital for about 6 months straight. Had to have heart surgery and then there was some "minor" other problems. He was 2 days from being able to come home and was feeling fine.

I'd like to invent a time machine so I can go back in time and kill William Willett dead. Then go back further and stomp on his father's testicles so William Willett could never be born.

The pose is all wrong to be a match for the one from the story. Which is what I'd be going for if I were going to drop hundreds of dollars on a Cthulhu statue.

One for home, one for the office. So I can pose my doll like HAMMMERTIME. Or stick pens in his tentacles and whatnot. I SAID PENS. I will give the win to Samwise on this topic, though. Much better, especially the first one.

If you succeed in inventing it, give me a ring so I can help. Today sucks. This week will suck. I'll adjust around November.
