It's the first album I was listening to because it's the only one I have.  I'm calmer now, though.

I owe Oban a couple of drinks because the hard-to-find Mitsubishi LT-52244 is fucking awesome, and I'd have never looked at it without his input.

Now I need to figure out how to get a Xbox 360 to output via HDMI and toslink simultaneously... not a problem on the PS3!  Stupid Microsoft.

Fantastic.  I was going to break out the dremel (I fucking love the dremel), but this is far better and obvious.  You're up to like six drinks already.

Facebook/ Myspace are wonderful tools for tracking down folks you knew in High School and seeing what losers and wastes of talent they've now become.

"Hey.. Steve was the #10 spot in class and went to OSU for premed.  What's he doing now!?"  : Working in a Target stockroom while trying to find a gig as a drummer.  Oh.

Oh look, it's Kim. She was always so focused and was going to hit business school then right into this job with a catering company she'd lined up an internship with.  What's she doing?  Oh, she found out how much easier pot is to get in college and is a bartender with no aspirations beyond partying and toking... at 34.   Well at least she's still kind of cute...

Hay, it's the "what if" chick.  What's her deal?  Oh, she's gained sixty pounds after having her 2 kids while working at "Penn Steak & Lube"

ACK!  I'm afraid to look for more people.

Why?  I had this conundrum when determining if I'd go to my 10 year high school reunion.

I don't care about these people now.  I didn't care about most of them back then.  I haven't seen most of these people in 10 years, but I imagine they look like a puffy version of their former self.  Why do I need an update on their life and to play "who's a bigger success" with people that I'm just going to forget again an hour after I exit the reunion?  When someone's out of my life, I don't have a driving need to bring them back in.

I'm fairly successful, happy, thin, and married and to be completely honest, not very interesting. I'd just bore myself and others.

I did this a few months back.  It is scary seeing how badly some people's lives and looks have turned out when they supposedly had all of these bright hopes and dreams for a better tomorrow or some shit.  Mostly bald at 27, driving the same beat up Camaro, got knocked up and had 3 kids already from 3 different daddies, hoping to finish their Associate's degree at 30, etc.  Depressing stuff here.  My life sucks enough as it is, no need to go hang out with people who will drag it down further.

For Father's Day, my kids got me a copy of MGS4.  Just think about that for a moment.  What did you give your Dad back when you were a 6 year-old?  I bet it wasn't as awesome as MGS4.

I got a case of dos xx and a chain saw, then went all texas chainsaw massacre on some cedar trees out front for 2 days solid.  I'm pretty worn out now but I'm thinking someone needs to make a chainsaw cradle for the wiimote and build a game around it, I haven't had that much fun in awhile and if I keep this up I'll eventually run out of trees.

difference is your lightsaber isn't destroying mother earth 1 tree at a time while it is waiting for the game to come out.

Someone needs to invent a lightsaber. It would be way better than a chainsaw for clearing out the back 40.

For father's day I bought myself some joint compound and put the first coat on the living room.

I knew a guy who needed some trees cleared from his cottage property and wound up finding a company that actually paid him to do it because they could sell the lumber.

Seriously, lumbering is big business. It's hard to find good forest land because the lumber companies buy it, clear cut it, and sell it for housing. I'd love to have a nice woodlot to pick from as I get to be a crotchety old guy.

If your dad wants it clear-cut, he stands to make a tidy profit and it shouldn't be tough to find someone to do it.

Me....I'd build a massive cedar cabin :)

About an hour west of Kerrville and we could probably manage the dos xx (near highways 83 and 41).  I don't know about kegs, but I'm sure we could get a sufficient amount of bottles chilled.

More seriously, I'm considering going out there for a few weeks to hack at cacti.  It'll be a good workout and I can even out start my tan.  Maybe head to Junction and go swimming in the Llano if I'm really adventurous.

Maybe we'll do both one day.  We do split the property with two other families, and weren't sure we were going to keep our share, but cedar grows like crazy up there.  We've seriously considered selling the wood.  Maybe we'll figure out what to do with it some year.

Edit:
For fun, here is the land.  The lower half of the rectangular area west of 83 and a bit into the blurry section.

Cedar is awesome wood.  My grandmother had a huge cedar lined closet and built in drawers.  Best wood for keeping clothes and linens in perfect condition.
