Seven people in my family have already been evacuated. One of their houses is way awesome and the fire was a few blocks away when they were evacuated.  Best wishes to your family. That's a full-blown mess out there. I started a thread over at Corp, because a lot of he San Diego dev community was having similar issues. Hope everyone involved is ok. My cousin is right on the water out in CA, and said he's pretty safe. He's also thinking he'lll clean up doing landscaping when this is all done. |

Why the fuck are there so many references to Second Life on TV? I watched an episode of "CSI:NY" yesterday that was some dumb fucker's idiotic version of Second Life for the masses. I wanted to hurl, it was so awful. Lo and behold, I just turned on "The Office" and Dwight is logging on to Second Life. I thought it was already established that no one plays that fucking game and that it is a huge fucking scam. Why not have WoW on TV? More fucking people play WoW than there are god damn farmers. Do Second Life PR people give blowjobs or bags of cocaine to get placed all over the fucking map?  |

The pure genius factor kicks in when you consider that no technocrat will ever call them on their lack of interwebs savvy in regards to SL because the technocrats consider it an such an overwhelming joke that the mere thought of anyone actually playing this piece of shit usually leaves us dumbfounded and at a loss for words. If EA doesn't buy linden labs for their marketing department they are complete and utter fools! |

I actually liked the CSI:NY Second Life episode. I thought they did a good job making the game relevent to the story. Obviously they took liberties with things but less than your typical show that features computer stuff.
