DST isn't till the 29th in Poland, heh.

Not sure why, but DST is really fucking with me this year. I usually crash around midnight, but now it's 1am, which means now only 5 hours of sleep.

Age.  Fucked with me hard this year so far. Was almost 2am before I drifted off last night (despite my last bit of caffeine happening prior to noon) and I had to be up at 5:45. Today has sucked and required lots of caffeine.

You're only like 40, Merusk!  You probably have another 40 years to go.  I can't even imagine what you'll be like.  Mushy, probably, like chicken skin.

Also, WTF is wrong with people?  So you're dog's not so pretty?  Go kill some other Irish Setter to get an edge.  Why not?  I hate kennel clubs and dog shows.  Same thing really.  You can't enter your dog unless it's in the fucking kennel club. I really Really REALLY hate all that kind of stuff.  I bet all these things were invented by the Amish.  Bastards.  Told you guys.  They're evil.

Update Signe's hate list for Amish and oddly Kennel Clubs. We're learning things this week.

Alabama has rockets and cheap land.  I don't know.  It's pretty quiet.  It's also pretty neat if you are white and don't like black people.

Some of these positives are not absolute positives.  Mississippi doesn't have any rockets, though.

Getting Lync and Skype talking requires a BA in the Dark Arts.

And then, when it works, it's not worth it.

Fuck sake Microsoft.

(Joking aside, that's why we're working feverishly on this.  It just ain't ready for primetime.  The synch needs to be seamless and if you're telling folks they need to log out of Skype and then back in with the Microsoft account, you have a real fucking problem...)

Well that's just a beta problem and will surely be fixed in a patch before releasing it live.   Just like game software.

My AIX are fine.  Right now I'm dicking around with 2012 and Hyper V.  Server core is a bag of dicks.  These are also a majority of my ESXi servers.

And... code upgrade bricks my storage arrays.  Woooooo. Looks like my afternoon will consist of watching basketball and going out for Eegees.

Everyone in this space sucks. Cisco is forcing everyone to go from WebEx Connect to WebEx Jabber which does the same thing, only with one of the most important features still missing (computer to computer calling) and no particular roadmap for when it is coming back.

Here's the fun thing;  you have two choices.  You can force one of the chaps on the call to log out and back in, or you can wait for 72 hours to allow the federation shit to magically start working.

So, yeah, instant communication application either has to hang up or wait.

Further, you can only have a two way communication between Skype and Nu-Skype.  You want a conference call ?  Tough.  Why ?  Because FUCK YOU that's why.

Sigh.

And I have to sell and configure this shit.

This is beta and internal level of code only.  This won't see the light of day.  I have no idea if it's the code or upgrade tool at this point.

Well, burglars don't generally hit shitholes as there's no stuff there. Glad you're safe at least.

Yeah, we found it very unnerving when our place was broken into. Fucker just ran upstairs, grabbed jewelry from the box on our dresser and left, in and out in five minutes--mostly it was just inexpensive pieces I'd bought for my wife over 20+ years, and two old keepsakes from her dad. Probably together only bought the guy one or two nights worth of drugs or whatever. Later on we found out it was a group of guys who were methodically hitting lots of houses in this suburban area we live in, with a sort of old Sith mentor guy who showed them how to do it. They found some of the stuff at the Sith mentor's house but none of ours, apparently. They only did it between 10:30am and noon to houses where there were no cars in the driveway within two houses on either side, they often used an old van that looked a bit as if it might be there to do service work, and they followed a strict m.o.: quick-smash the door lock, run to the master bedroom, grab a pillowcase from the bed, take jewelry that is visible, and check the upper drawers of any dressers for more jewelry and for guns. Out in five minutes no matter what. Never take electronics, never take anything that's visibly obvious as a stolen object when you leave the front door. So just a nuisance, but still very frightening and infuriating.

Our dogs were super freaked-out for about three weeks--we found them just sitting on the downstairs couch, staring wide-eyed at the busted front door. Fortunately I picked up my daughter that day from school, otherwise she would have been the first person to find the door busted open.

Sorry to hear that Ironwood.

My family house got robbed when I was 7. They took everything of value in the house, leaving the kids' rooms alone since they were obviously kids' rooms. It kind of freaked me out for a little but mostly it told me that it doesn't matter where you live, your shit can get taken at any time. We lived in the country... and I mean THE KUNTRY. The closest neighbor was over a mile away and not within line of sight of the house. It was the proverbial "We leave our doors open at night" kind of place. The closest hick town was 5 miles away, the closest to a metro area was 12 miles away. They did it in broad daylight probably with a goddamn Uhaul sized truck and just emptied the place of TV's, jewelry, my dad's old HAM radio equipment.

Just because you live in a good spot, or in the country, doesn't mean the fuckers won't come find you and take your shit.

Sorry to hear that, Ironwood.  Hope they didn't get anything of sentimental value.

My MiL's house got robbed when she was away for a few days visiting the BiL.  None of her neighbors noticed anything because the robbers went in through her French doors on the back patio, but broke it open in such a way they could close things up again and make it not obvious.
