Today I discovered my commute is exactly the length of Iron Maiden's "Rime of the Ancient Mariner."

I also recommend Rush 2112, side 1.

Never really cared for Rush. Not sure why, I'm normally prog-friendly.

Apparently, if you still get them beyond the hormone out of control age, it's dietary.

I wasn't going to go there.  I'm already considered a dietary zealot around here.

I don't like Rush, either. Except for the drummer.

My drive commute time is almost long enough to listen to an entire Samhain album but too long to listen to a Ramones album (found this out today as well).

Doc says I have a small pituitary tumor which is why I've been feeling so shitty. They are fairly common apparently and almost always benign, but it explains why I've been so lethargic this month.

Yeah I'll see an endocrinologist and get some treatment answers. It's not very big at all according to the doctor but enough to screw up my hormone levels.

Buddy of mine at work had the same kind of thing for years. Finally got it taken care of surgically and he's fine now - I think it's been 3 or 4 years since he had the surgery.

I want to invent a plugin for Captcha. If you fail to fill out the captcha correctly 3 times on Internet Explorer, it stabs you in the goddamn face rather than allow you to email someone to tell them that the form doesn't work.

Thanks, I'll keep yall updated when I get more info from the two endocrine docs I'm scheduled to see this month. The only other kick in the butt right now is my A/C went on the fritz and trying to get a quote is taking a while on a total overhaul.

So I just got woken up from a dream and can't fall back asleep. I don't know why I woke up or what the dream was about, but I remember a fucking news report I was apparently watching in the dream. Here we go:

LOCAL BASKETBALL HOOP GOES UNUSED FOR DECADES

A predominantly white neighborhood in Los Angeles put up a basketball hoop no one will ever use. Apparently the owners of the house that rests on the corner of Avery and Wilcox decided they wanted to put up a basketball hoop in the middle of the night during a dinner party with some of their neighbors. They happened to have a basketball hoop in their garage they were going to put up in their driveway, when their neighbors convinced them it would be a great community hoop. Instead of placing it in a cul-de-sac they, placed is at the edge of their property near a busy intersection.

Now, for fear of children - and adults - getting hit by oncoming traffic, not to mention tripping over the curb, the basketball hoop just sits there. Encased in concrete forever. A testimony to their whiteness, since 1974.

There were definitely some of those "man on the street" style interviews in the news report. One of the folks said there must've been drugs at the party. Another said something along the lines of "You know, the neighborhood across the street is considered 'dangerous,' so we don't let our kids play out there anyway. The hoop was a terrible idea."

The entire thing was just absurd.

I think you should invent a plugin for captcha that allows users to just pay you $0.99 a month to never have to fill another captcha out again.

Know what's totally awesome?

Doing a search for tenant information, finding something on the leasing company's website, freely available, but flagged with "THIS DOCUMENT SHALL BE CONSIDERED CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION."

I had a recurrent dream last night where I was on some sort of extremely consequential game show (like, it was a combination of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and The Running Man, where success was freedom and failure was death) and they kept asking me to locate on a map without further clues the location of "Nipling" (I could see the word spelled out in the dream, which is unusual in my experience). When I woke up I was like, "WAAAAGH, where is Nipling and why am I dreaming about it?" So, it's not a place anywhere. So yeah, go ahead and go all Freud on it if you like, except that I know where the locally available nipple-ville is.

Which game did that?  I got Splinter Cell: Blacklist for free when I bought my new vid card last week and it's done something similar.  A new patch every time I've started, each one at least 20 megs.
