30 fucking sucked for me and continued to suck for years.

Your 40's are where the fun's at.

 Ohhhhh, I see.
I agree on the 30s, though you're just hoping you have something to look forward to.  Jury is still out on this one, but so far it's starting out even more shitty.

Hahahaha!  I'm really good at this!

My 30s have been a ton more productive than my 20s so far, and more fun. Plus I have better toys.

I dunno why it bums me out so much considering that the world declares you dead around 27 anyway in terms of modern/pop culture.

I've mentioned it before (in this very thread, I think), but turning 30 sent me into a collossal depression that only lifted....

Wait.  I don't think it ever did.

If you even care about that you're in for a long, slow, brutal spiral into death.

The thing I've enjoyed most about being over 30 is simply not giving a fuck about "THE BIG THING" that kids care about.  Why?  Because you realize what a vapid, empty and meaningless pursuit all of that bullshit was.

Where did I say I did that?  I was making reference to the obsessive need to be liked, part of something "big" and overly-social that ran around peer groups when I was in my 20s. The university-culture mindset that persists until you settle down in to family and career mode and wonder why you gave a fuck about what those other cunts thought in the first place.

That almost always turns out to be work, or the lack thereof for some people.

You misunderstood I think  - I was actually asking.  If Family and Career are your answers, fair enough.

I'd go back to my 20s only if I could keep my job and little bits of knowledge I have gained. 30s have been pretty solid so far, but I'm not looking forward to hitting 40.

20s without the knowledge to back it up would be awful to do again.

Definitely.  I have archived text messages, emails, & forum postings from age 18 to roughly 27.  Reading back all I can think is "man was I one huge dumbass."

At least this time round I'd have learned to recognise a lesbian before going with her for 3 years.

I hear Atlanta, Chicago, NY and LA have hot strippers but only in specific clubs.

I have seen them.  I'm not endorsing the clubs.  Better to rent a whore from the ads in Creative Loafing.

Why am I homeless?  Why do all you motherfuckers need homes is the real question.

Ah, you're like my brother in law.  He used to be inexplicably drawn to lesbians until he married my sister.  Whatever that means.  Now he's just inexplicably drawn to my sister.  If you ever have this problem again I could introduce you to my sister.  Of course, that would present a whole new problem.

I don't want to sound all full of myself but the employment outlook at my school is still pretty solid.  The 'don't go to law school it's literally worse than anything you could do ever ever' schtick is getting pretty played out.

I know quite a few people that have a law degree, don't practice law per se, and are knocking it dead.  It's a useful degree even if you don't practice as an attorney.  Now for some of the smaller, less reputable schools getting hired may be an issue, but for the most part I think attorneys are doing okay.

I'm not saying I like what they advertise to me but when targeted advertising for you goes from music, media, and pop culture shit to investment funds, life insurance, and parent convenience items it's a tad depressing.

Sure.  It's still tough times out there.

I would say that my friends who are attorneys and aren't practicing are generally doing better.  It's still a good degree is the point I was trying to make.  It will open new doors, if the person opens their mind to other possibilities than just "attorneying".

Depends on the school and where you place by grades within your class. I have several laywers as clients who started their own firms because the job market was complete ass 3 years ago. It's improving some, but it's not "played out" yet, despite what you may have heard.
