I know everyone loves to beat up on itunes for whatever reason, but I'm with ghost on this one. It was easy to use, had a good ui and was very good for ipod/mac/pc setup. Winamp? 1997 called and wanted its software back.

I'm actually using the Zune software for music/phone management, and it's shockingly good for a MS entertainment software product.  The UI and performance are a million times better than iTunes.  iTunes is why I migrated off of the iPhone, actually.

The music interface on the iPhone is really about as easy to use as anything I've ever come across.  What didn't you like about it?

iTunes is pretty awful, but the media (music and particularly podcast) management on Windows Phone is just better than my experience with iOS (I dropped out around iOS 5), but mostly the desktop application (and occasions when my iPhone forgot all of the media I had on it) made me want to switch.  I was very happy with Zune from my experience with my Zune 30GB, though.

Really? My latest PC went together like a breeze. GUI BIOS and one-button 4GHz OC for Dummies, Win 7 was a fast and easy install. And I'm on the far side of 40, you snot-nosed bastards.

You appear to live in a fantasy land of days gone by that overlaps with a time roughly three days in the future, based on your posts.  I'm not able to correlate your day-to-day experiences with the things I experience, to a very large degree.

If you live in fantasy land you already have one.  Duh.

Job hunting is literally Hitler.

Last position I applied for in October had 330 qualified applicants (PhD, Postdocs, and 5+ years experience in a VERY specific field).  The job market is terrible.

Motherboard was dead. Not sure how it happened, really, as it appeared to happen while the machine was turned off and on a (intact and actually protecting) surge protector, but oh well.

We got above freezing today, which melted the pathetic tiny amount of snow that we've seen so far this season. That $500+ I spent on a snowblower last year seems so wasted.

On the other side of that, I've gotten a lot of use out of the three pair of sandals I bought.

So what you are saying is it is your fault the state of Illinois has gotten almost no snow the last year and a half? Why couldn't you have bought the snow blower two years ago when we were under a foot of snow from Christmas through Februrary!

My boss has the opposite luck (good luck). After Irene he lost power for 5 days and installed a permanent Nat gas generator for his home. Then months later Sandy happened.

Holy fuck.  54C = 129F.  I'd say good thing that's the middle of the landmass but somehow, I don't think that helps much.  Especially not with all the red around which translates to the 90sF?  Ugh.  And I much prefer being warm/hot to being cold.

If I could chop a tree down and make it cool my house, I'd like hot weather. As it is, no matter how cold it gets, I can be warm. So fuck hot weather, it's expensive.
