Do you wear glasses? If not, try having to wait for fucking ever for them to uncloud so you can actually see.

Heh I was gonna post the same thing. On a related note why do shops all turn their heating up to 11 when it's wintry? Means that as soon as you walk into them from outside your specs steam up and you stumble blindly for 5 minutes!

Schild - record their kids screaming one day and then play it back, very very loudly on a repeat loop while you're out of the apartment for a couple of hours  DRILLING AND WOMANLINESS

THAT would be awesome.

Serious noob type question coming up - is there a good place to download good, free ringtones that won't try to trick me into paying for them and/or download a bunch of adware crap to my machine?

It's a piece of cake to make ringtones for the iPhone.

1) get 30 sencond mp3
2) tell iTunes to transcode it to AAC
3) copy the file to your desktop and delete it from iTunes
4) change the extension from mp4 to mpr
5) add the file to iTunes

It will automatically get added to your ringtones folder. Sync up and you're set. I've made many a ringtone this way.

Question is why you have an mp3 and not an aac in the first place!  why so serious?

Nice tip on the mpr bit, though!

My wife and I got the best early Christmas present ever. Many pages of Useless Conversation ago, I had just been told that we were not going to be able to have kids. That turns out to not be entirely true as my issues still allowed us to go the IVF route. We just found out that we've been admitted early into the process and if, and it's hard not to be excited about this, things go well, we could be looking at my wife being pregnant by the end of January... with a 30% chance of twins.

So yay, everything has a way of working out. Hopefully things go well and we'll have some good news in a couple months. It's damn expensive, but going to be worth it imo.

It seems to work all the way until the last step...and then it just automatically moves it to the Music folder.  Any idea what I might be doing wrong?  I am simply using the Add File to Library to get it imported again.

I wish that was what it was, but it involved a needle and the inability to sit comfortably for about 4 days.

Regardless, that was well played, Sir.

And thanks everyone, I do appreciate it. Everything "starts" on the 30th, and then it gets crazy for a few weeks and then we play a game of wait and see for about 2 weeks. It's been one Hell of a rollercoaster, first hearing 'there's no way', then 'there might be a way' and finally 'there is a way and your accepted off the waitlist 3 months early'.

Also, WHAT NEWS RASIX?

Awesome news Rasix! Those first few tests are terrifying. Our baby had a large head, which combined with my wife's blood work and age put us at a 1/40 chance of Down's. As a poker player, I have been beaten by 1 outers on the river (1/44 chance) more times than I care to remember, so I was just SICK for the 72 hours it took to get the result from the amnio. Everything worked out, and he is normal (and he grew into his head!).

Murdoc- good news and good luck. We are all pulling for you (?)!  Oh ho ho ho. Reallllly?

I officially hate life insurance policies. Especially Sunlife. Nothing says "We're sorry your mother passed away" like telling me to leave you alone, cause you'll call me when you're ready to let me know what's going on.

That's awful, after my dad died his insurance called all his listed beneficiaries to give condolences, mention that he was happy in the arms of Allah (Islamic Life Insurance company) and tell us how much money there was, how he wanted it divided, and how we could expedite it. And then more condolences.  Followed by a letter with the same stuff.
