A law degree is almost worth the effort just to have a get-out-of-jury-service-free card.

I find my Philosphy degree also works wonders for this.   No lawyer wants some smart ass holding up the deliberation b/c he's arguing the subjectivity of the moral code upon which modern laws are based.

Almost anyone who speaks up and expresses an opinion during the selection is likely to get booted.

For example, the prosecution likely did not want me on the jury when I suggested the State had no compelling interest in stopping prostitution.  I'm sure the defense would have loved me.  As long as you're a serious threat to one side's position, you'll be kicked.  So have an opinion, and be willing to share it!

Hahahaha!  I'm really good at this!

The philosopher might answer "Il vaut mieux hasarder de sauver un coupable que de condamner un innocent."  Not going to work on the defence lawyer, though.

Broke down and bought a few xmas lights with the money from selling my old pickup. Gemmy rules! I got a couple strings and one icicle string. Video of the icicles: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmUQOojG6QU They've got RGB LEDs on a 5-minute program loop, very cool. Makes the other lights look so dated.

My neighbor with all the crazy holiday displays turned me onto the Gemmy stuff. Our end of the block is friggin splendid!

Funny story.

There used to be a huge Christmas display every year in at a house in my town. Turns out the woman who put it up was the accountant for the local fire department and had been embezzling from it for almost a decade.

Hope she dies in a car fire.

Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

Oh, that happened when Fox said "Epic Lulz." In fact, the whole internet became a 4chan meme when that happened. Inevitable really, it was going to be them or their unholy father, SA.

So I happen to be watching the half time show of the Detroit Lions game and I believe it's Paul McCartney's son singing?  I think I found something more terrible than the Detroit Lions.

It's really foggy here this morning. Icy and foggy. If it wasn't 8am and I wasn't still in my dressing gown & jammies I'd get off my arse and go and photograph it. But it is and I am and my girlfriend has just made tea and toast.
