I generally use full screen, although with the ultrawide (21:9 ratio) I sometimes side-by-side the word processor/text editor and the browser. But I also have like 150 browser tabs open across 4-5 different browser sessions (sometimes from three different browsers).

I always use full screen. It's easy to alt-tab and easier to focus without other stuff in my peripheral.

I only ever use otherwise when doing things like comparing PDFs, etc and need to see them side by side.

I also have two screens wherever possible.

And when I am done with something I close it. My partner will have browser tabs open from a week ago, drives me crazy. If I'm done I'm done, I'll open it again later if I need it rather than keep it around just in case.

Got to steamboat this afternoon, it was already snowing, might get 2+ feet before it stops tomorrow  DRILLING AND WOMANLINESS

How long are you in Steamboat? I'll be up there this weekend.

I leave Saturday. Skiing today was great and it started snowing again around noon, so tomorrow should be another fresh powder day.

Finally finished painting my first bust (as a gift for the fiancee for xmas) and realized I need to mount it to a display plinth. By Friday.

That's an issue because my workshops (both paint and wood) are torn apart because I broke my toe halfway through rearranging/cleaning/upgrading both. Dammit. Also, forgot time to properly stain a piece. Blarg. Luckily she's a grinch so the timing probably isn't a huge deal!

I use four monitors at work, and fill them all. Undocking is always funny.

This was a weird year. Multiple people I worked with for years were canned, but it resulted in my promotion and now I'm financially stable for the first time in years. I moved to a part of town I always thought of as a shithole, and now I wish I'd moved here ten years ago.
I'm 44 and in the exact same spot socially that I was 15 years ago, yet that doesn't seem to bother me.

I had no idea that was her name so I Googled her. The AT&T commercials do not properly showcase just how damn attractive she is. I can see why you'd want her to do your taxes. Maybe in Paris so you can experience the Eiffel Tower.

I saw her in the Yahoo show Other Space, and had to look her up to see why she looked so familiar. Whoever is doing the costuming and makeup in the AT&T commercials should win an award for making her as unattractive as possible, because if you see her in anything else...  this guy looks legit

So am I an asshole?

Took the afternoon off from work, bought a ticket to the 1:20 pm showing of Star Wars.  Got in line about 12:45, doors opened about 12:50, filed in and got a seat in the back row.  I like to sit in the back, seems easier on my eyes/neck etc.   The back row of this theater is broken up in to clusters of 2, 3 and 4 seats together with slots in between where someone in a wheelchair can sit.  I am sitting in a cluster of 3 on the rightmost seat next to the aisle.  To the left of me are two random strangers. So we sit there for about half an hour plus shooting the shit.

At about 1:17, roughly 3 minutes before the show (well the trailers) start an older man with 3 family/friends in tow shows up and takes the wheelchair spot on the left side of our seat "cluster". He then asks for all three of us to move so that his 3 friends/family can all sit together next to him.  It is a sold out show.  The only seats left are the crap seats in the front row or in the middle of a sea of people.

I just stare at the guy in disbelief... and just get up and leave, ask the front for a refund and go to work.

My take is: The guy is a fucking douche bag.   IMO what he did is no different than showing up at a Wal Mart parking lot and taking a handicapped parking spot and then expecting people to clear out of the three adjacent non handicapped parking spots so that your 3 non handicapped friends can all park there.  If you want 3 adjacent to each other in the last row.... fucking get to the movie in advance and take the 3 spots.  Don't show up 3 minutes before a sold out show and expect to find three empty spots all together that so happen to be next to a wheelchair slot.

My guess is it was a grandfather in the chair, his wife, their daughter, and their grandson.

So, am I the asshole in thinking this, or was he leveraging his disability to get his way?

To be clear I have I had no issues with him taking a handicap spot at the theater.  My issue was the assumption that his disability entitles everyone else in his party seats all together.

It's one thing to ask for an adjacent seat if he needs a caretaker but to ask for 3 is just being an entitled asshole.

It would honestly depend on how he asked me. If it was aggressive and entitled about it, I probably explain that's not how the system works.

Then again, in my theaters, seats are assigned now to avoid this nonsense. If you're handicapped you just get those seats, but with assigned seating you don't worry about showing up late.

I want to know what the other two folks did.

In honesty, and having a disabled family member, I don't think you were being unreasonable and I think you handled it well.  Giving up a seat for a carer to someone who's 'disabled' is sometimes very vital, but frankly, if the guy's in the chair just because he's old... well, fuck him.  He's lucky he's not put on a fucking icefloe and sent out to sea.   Also, 'gimme 3 seats' is fucking clownshoes, as is showing up that late.  Also, If he was properly disabled, I can tell you from personal experience, there's no way you fucking turn up that late.  It gets ingrained into you that you're best getting to that shit early and avoiding retarded crowds of assholes.  (Genuine ones, I mean.)

That said, I would advise in future if you show up early, not to sit in the seat right next to the disabled spot ; You were wearing the short skirt and fucking asking for it, mate.

Had to order tires for my GTI this morning. They were cheaper than I feared but still a lot more than I paid for tires the last time I had to buy tires. High performance low-profile tires are spendy!
