Ok, the PS2 market is out of fucking control. Due to a lack of backwards compatibility in 99% of all PS3s, people want these fucking games and consoles. This is crazy town.

Anyone want my PS2 collection? $10,000 gets it.

There's a wolf spider in the basement bathroom.

You can have my PS2 collection for the price of a plane ticket to Amsterdam if I can ever find it.

Someone give me the skinny on modern MP3 generation.

What PS2 games are worth that much? I assume it would be have to be obscure stuff that never got any sort of HD port.

Today I found that I can't shortcut on chemicals by mixing sodium bicarbonate (raise pH) with calcium chloride (raise hardness) in the same bucket.  This apparently results in salt and limestone, plus another order of chemicals.

Just drain the liquid from the bucket into a storm drain, and sell what's left as meth.

Isn't that what everyone around Atlanta does?

I haven't done this in bulk, so I'm still in WMP Land.  Either you're asking about a disc-swapping robot or you're asking about better quality encodings...?

Aren't there places that have multi-CD trays that will rip everything for a price? Or could you rent something like that? Or put up an ad on the local campus and have a smokin' hot co-ed do it for beer money?

I just want to know a good piece of software for ripping CDs. Something fast and efficient, but as lossless as possible. I don't mind doing it one CD at a time.

I'm not the one to ask, then, because WMP works fine for me.

Also I can't find the spider thread.

EAC supports FLAC if it's installed separately. Or you can rip straight to WAV.

In iTunes you can rip to an MP3 and set the bit-rate fairly high.

I believe you an also do lossless through that. It even rips automatically when you insert the disc and ejects it when done!

Interesting... I have a bunch of PS2 games still in the plastic.  I wonder if they're worth anything.

For PC, the audiophiles I know use Sound Forge for ripping Redbook CD's.

What file format do you want to end up with after ripping?

If there was no number, he would only be able to get angry about it and deal with it at a more convenient time.  However, he now has to engage another person on their schedule.

Nothing says you have to engage on their schedule.  Since he hit you it sounds like the best time to contact him would be 3am.  Just so you know he's home and not doing anything.  Make sure you point that out when you call.

Then again, maybe I shouldn't take my 'how to get in touch with people' lessons from a 70 year old ex-Marine who owned a print shop and used them to get ahold of guys who weren't paying bills.  'It's just Bill <smith> wanting to let you know I was thinking of you.' *click*

Give the information to your insurance company and let them deal with it. That is what they get paid for.

When I worked at the pizza shop, we kept a list of students who'd been assholes over the semester and we'd call and wake them up at 3am during finals week.

So a guy hitting a car and doing the decent thing of leaving a number is now a problem?

Who knew?

I'm not entirely positive on this, but I am pretty sure the problem is that the asshole didn't pay attention and hit his girl's car in the first place.  Nothing "nice" the car destroying asshole does after the fact, makes him any less of an asshole.

I am kind of sensitive to stuff like this. My wife's car has been totaled twice.  The first time she was parked in our designated parking spot at our apartments. Some jackass in a moving truck failed to make the corner and cut into the side of the car like a can opener. The second time she was parked towards the rear of a supermarket parking lot and some jackass in a mustang (according to witnesses) doing donuts took out the front end.  Neither time was contact information left, and if it had been it wouldn't have made things any better.  Our fucking insurance is ridiculously expensive now.

Hot damn.  I've got a few games of that era lying around, I should dig them up and see if they still work.

Of course knowing that they're valuable just makes me LESS likely to part with them just yet...
