Sure, it sounds like the right move, but then his brother steals his sheep, Ironwood burns down his outhouse in retaliation, and it just devolves from there.
Hey Ironwood, you wouldn't happen to be named 'McCoy" would you?

That sounds like Kentucky.  I have this theory that Scotland is just a little piece of Kentucky that floated off to sea.  I'm sure Ironwood would agree with that assessment.

Getting a little too serious in here.

I have a box of Girl Guide cookies on my desk right now. The Mint ones. Made with real Girl Guides.

Are you being facetious?  The Appalachians were largely settled by Scots-Irish.  Hence "McCoy" and "Hatfield"...

I thought someone here linked it originally. I'd heard it was on Deviantart, but a quick search is not finding it.
I'll drop it in to Awesome Pictures with a link to the TIFF

It's always good to maintain contact even if it's just to know what diseases they've developed, as you've got a chance of getting them too.

I like my immediate family.  They're good people.  The rest? There's some good and some bad.  Some really bad.  Prison bad.

100% of them often forget that I have a 2 year old.  Means that sometimes, I'm going to have to disappoint you and not go to everything. Deal.

Lots and lots and lots of guys who do houses.

Last job implemented a mandatory e-mail system for invoices beginning December of 2010.  They still lost 1/3 of their previous vendors because said vendors didn't have the capability to connect to the web or regular e-mail.  One husband-wife siding team asked "what about this fax machine we bought in '05.  We haven't unboxed it but we could if that's what you need."

No pity from me, either.   It's business, not entertainment.   My vitriol at the D3 'internet only' decision is it's stupid business to say, "Hey, let's limit our potential market by 1/3 before we even apply other metrics that will limit it!"

Came up today that I hadn't spoken to my father since I was about 13 or so. Mate was aghast that I had no problems with this.  Ohhhhh, I see.

Then again, I've hardly ever fit in with my family. Maybe that's why I'm not too concerned about missing every holiday or family event for (hopefully) the next 20 years or so.

When you take a wife and have a kid, you make your own family.  They are your priority.
Yeah.  I love my mom dearly, but I told her off in no uncertain words when she tried to rag on my partner in my own home.

LOL  Yeah, it's taken me a long while to realize that it's not my problem, it's hers.  And while the whole pregnancy scare thing might be amusing, it's not going to work considering I'm having a hysterectomy done on the 17th (I'll spare the male sensibilities around here and not give details after the fact.  I'll leave you all to Sand's tender TMI mercies instead.  evil)
I'm hoping for a speedy recovery.  It's not a lot of fun the first few days.  Get some good pain meds.

What Moses said, but I wanted to point-out that Flickr is written to actually defend your rights of ownership based on what I've seen other photographers say about it.   It's why I went ahead and paid for pro even though I don't upload frequently or take nearly enough photos to make full use of it.

Thanks.  It's supposed to be done using the DiVinci Robotic System* which would be awesome, much quicker recovery.  I've had laparoscopic surgery before and handled it fine, but that was 14 years and "several" pounds ago.  I really don't want them to have to do a conventional abdominal incision.  My mom's coming up to help out the first week I'm home again, but I'm still hoping for a nice prescription of Vicodin or whatever's good.  I've never had good painkillers before. :D

*That is one of the first hits when putting in DaVinci Robot... I find it kind of weird there is a site specifically for hysterectomies done with this device./

Bear in mind that when I talk about keeping contact with the ungrateful bastards, I don't mean you have to take their shit without comment. Or that you have to take shit like being stolen from, or flat out lied to. You have the right to tell them to get bent and restrict access until they can act right. And when it goes past your immediate family, all bets are off. My dad's side of the family was full of fucking criminals and reprobates with the exception of one uncle. I won't have anything to do with his side of the family, didn't go to my granddad's funeral and don't regret it. Some people are a cancer on your life and don't deserve your fucking time, much less the oxygen they use up. That goes doubly for abusive, shitheel parents, brothers or sisters who steal from you or in other ways fuck with your lives in damaging ways.

But sniping comments in letters about weight loss, or other such "hurt feelings" type of drama? Fuck it, in 5 years it won't goddamn matter, and with parents or PIL's, they've likely been cunts all their lives, are cunts now and will be cunts on their deathbeds.
