Saw these images linked on irc today: Image 1Image 2Image 3Image 4Fiefdom Videos: Video 1Video 2Old dominus screenshots: Old 1 - See image 2 above. Old 2 Old 3 - See image 1 above. Their new game seems to be named "Fiefdom: The dawn of kingdoms" or something. The screenshots even have the same crappy shareware 3d engine watermark as dominus. I bet this one doesn't make it beyond alpha testing either. Edit: Added old dominus screenshots and two videos.

I can hardly wait to not play it.
I wonder why they have to keep that tree in a cage.

The same reason we keep ugly people in cages.

What is the purpose of such screenshots? I'm pretty sure I could throw those together in a few hours (using premade trees and whatnot first of course). So... to what purpose?

I like how they worked "Dawn" into the title.

I have no idea what the purpose is. Hawthorne was probably trying to impress someone with those screenshots. Eventually they leaked to various other irc channels. I really wouldn't be surprised if he was sending out F:DoK press releases tomorrow though. I have absolutely nothing to do with it. I wouldn't be surprised if I'm still banned from #theregulators on stratics.

Just mediocre PK/PVPers. I wonder if they have the same guy writing the lore for this one too. His grammar makes Morphiend look like a human spell checker.

Nope, Im happily attending college to get into Computer Animation. I do agree that my grammar does suck however ;p. I didn't care to much about it while writing it at the time. Of course there was 3 versions of the story. There was Hawthorne's original story, My version which was separated into chapters, and a rewrite of it after they "fired" me. So not sure which version you're talking about but I wouldn't doubt it was mine. Sad part about Fiefdom is that the engine is third party, most of the art was done by interns only and are probably not on the Fiefdom team , and the design document probably is as blank as it was for Dominus as it is for this. My guess is that it wont even get past Alpha phase 0. If you all have any questions about some of the stuff that went on with the Dominus team feel free to ask. Excavius aka Magika

It's a very common recipe. Ingredients: 1 Player Run Emu Server 1 Paypal Donation Link 2 scoops of drama Several Corrupt Admins Instructions: Mix all ingredients well. Let it bake for a few months. Then pocket the donations, and discard the rest. Edit: Left out an important ingredient.

Was it really that hard to understand that I was making fun of the Dominus guy?
Honestly, I'm flabbergasted. How someone managed to take that seriously and come out with something about pocketing donations is totally beyond my realm of comprehension.
Edit: Left out an important insult.

Just mediocre PK/PVPers. I wonder if they have the same guy writing the lore for this one too. His grammar makes Morphiend look like a human spell checker. I found the original lore written by hawthorne. Dominus was created from the ashes of the god Zereus and the remnants of the god race from the Divinity War. The war lasted 1600 years in a struggle to dominate the last elements of Arcane Power that controls immortality and engenders the Arcane Arts. During this battle, many gods fell victim to one another, and in the end, fell victim to their own greed. In their efforts to possess the Arcane Power they consumed what little was left in the Plane of Divinity.
When the war ended, Zereus’ wife Kelia lay dead, leaving Zereus and their only daughter Neria as the only living gods left in the Plane. Knowing that one day the power which offered them eternal life would soon be extinguished; Zereus poured his last breath into a spell that would protect Neria’s chance at immortality thus allowing the god race to live on.
After a long and tedious search in the books of the Arcane Masters, he found a spell that would preserve Neria’s immortality in a new and desolate world, but would obliterate his own life and the Plane of Divinity. Neria protested and begged her father not to leave her, but Zereus had already begun the preparations for his last godly act.
Zereus brought Neria to Mount Domus, where the last of the Arcane Power resided and he began his incantation. His last words were uttered as he crumbled into a pile of ash and Neria faded into another existence, leaving the Plane of Divinity to slowly lose all its power and vanish from existence.
Upon reaching her new home Neria named it Dominus, in commemoration of the great Mount Domus and swore to devote her immortality to pay tribute to her father’s everlasting gift of life. Five hundred years went by as Neria crafted various races of life. The new races never interacted with Neria nor knew of Her existence, but they comforted her loneliness and Neria would send their leaders visions of the cities she envisioned to honor her father and the gods that once lived in the Plane of Divinity. But all was not well in Dominus.
Zereus had failed to create the world he had hoped. After seven hundred years, Neria’s immortality began to fade. The Arcane Power was strong, but not enough of it remained to sustain both Dominus and Neria. Feeling her time was at an end, Neria knew she had to preserve the Arcane Arts that brought the gods to power. Slowly Neria passed her knowledge of Arcane Lore through visions, before she completely faded away. This was the god’s last gift to the Dominus races. And so time passed by.
The year in Dominus is 2769, there are no more visions. The races of Dominus have no prophets, no gods. They only have Dominus and the Arcane Power that flows through it. This is the world where new leaders will come to power, new kings will be crowned, new legends will be forged, new cities will rise and fall, guilds will come to power, and some will fall from grace.
This is the world of Dominus, it is in your hands now. Are you ready to be a Master? Are you ready to be a MASTER? I wonder if he was watching pokemon while writing that.

Yah.... Good job there. I meant by asking questions of me on what went on behind the scenes for Dominus because Fiefdom is basically Dominus 2.0 (Or rather 0.2 since Dominus never got far). Could compare what is being said by their staff (When they get around to it) with what was going on back when Dominus was being promoted.

We would ask questions, but that would imply we think this game will ever get beyond the masturbatory fantasy stage. It would also imply we give a shit.
We don't. We really, really don't. Actual MMOG's have just as much trainwreck potential, and they actually, you know, exist.
