There's 3000 spots. Not sure exactly how the game will be different, but they promise an open job-system and the one-week closed beta is from September 18th to the 25th. Go forth and tell us how it is.
I am so sick of all these games where the men looks like little girls. I just played the Archlord Beta (wow does it suck). At least the Blood Elves in WoW have a sence of humor about it. Blood Elf Male says "Dont you wish your girlfriend was hot like me?.
I like reading the Archlord boards where one person says "I'm sure these problems will be fixed during beta" then another person points out the game is already out in Korea and isn't going to change a bit.
FlyFF was fun for 10 minutes. Maybe this will be fun for 15.
vampirehipi23: I would enjoy a book written by a monkey and turned into a movie rather than this.
Re: the Archlord boards; Hope really does spring eternal.
I like to think of the import of Korean MMOs as arbitrage; they're probably relatively cheap to port, so they'll keep getting ported until our supplies of naive, ill-informed hope are fully exhausted.
Until then, the Asheron's Call forums still get a post once in a while about how Silk Road is going to be the game that kills Turbine once and for all.
Almost all Korean MMOs are free to play, but they generally make their money through some combo of advertising and micropayments.
The lack of a requirement to ask mom nicely for her credit card number is partly why they have a much greater concetration of l33t kiddies than most other MMOs.
