GTA: Gang Land.

I played the demo, it was decent. Ill probably try and pick this up today after work. Not going to stress it if they are sold out.

If I get this, it'll be the first time I've actually gotten a GTA style game for myself since GTA 3, which I bought and traded in. I really liked the voice acting on the leader of the Saints though and the character customization peaked my interest. And I DO have interest in this sort of multiplayer.

Oh, and I picked this up at Walmart tonight when I was buying some food on the way home from work (getting out of work at 11pm sucks sometimes). Pretty fun. Some of the missions are brilliant. Drug trafficking is positively hilarious and the voice acting is phenomenal. Which is good considering I just came off of Disgaea 2, which sets the bar for voice acting.

Wal*Mart is where I bought that Krusteaz pancake mix that let me kick Aunt Jemima to the curb.  Many Wal*Marts (Wal*Martses?) have a good selection of organic food, too.

So... is Saint's Row a reason to buy a 360?  Isn't it based on... something...?  Something I can watch or read?

Agree. Vice City is pure gaming love. Probably my favorite game of all time. It really is worth buying an PS2 just for this one game alone.

Vice City and San Andreas are a couple of my favorite single player games. I wish more rpgs would adopt that style of gameplay.

If this turns out to be more like Mercs and less like GTA, I may have to trade in some crap and pick it up.  Odd, but I really didn't enjoy any of the GTA games but loved Mercs.

The IGN Review said its a lot like GTA, in fact they out right copied a lot of stuff.

I did not know that it had multiplayer, and Co-op mode. Also you can create online Gangs. Ill be getting this game tonight or tomorrow. Bat Country gang anyone?

...or you could just play the PC port, no?  The PC version is actually better from what I understand.  Better textures, MP3 option, mouse, etc.

We might get a 360, I haven't decided.  If we do, this looks like good fun.

PS  I had no idea Walmart sold groceries... as in perishable stuff, right?  I assumed they just had the sort of junk Target or Kmart has.  Snacks, general merchandise, etc.  I've actally been in a Walmart now but I guess somehow I missed their grocery store.

We had a "Super K-Mart" here for a while. It sold everything. And I mean everything. It had a full supermarket and a full car dealership in it. And everything in between.

You could just go to a K-Mart and buy groceries and then buy a car and drive them back to your trailer?

What sort of hole do you live in?  There are two versions of those three stores: Wal*Mart and Super Wal*Mart, Target and Super Target, and I believe I have once seen a Super K-Mart but K-Mart is just so, so very far from super.  My crap town has a Super Wal*Mart and they just built a new SWM about five miles from the original.  It's cleaner but that's because it's newer.  I far prefer Super Target since the higher-quality mechandise and the resultant higher prices tends to prevent the place from being packed with illiterates and ne'er-do-wells.  It's also a sight cleaner and I don't have to struggle past a teenage mother-of-four and her brood in order to get my sliced-bread on.  Also I can buy a frozen pizza, an end table and a Nintendo DS in the same store.  Isn't America AWESOME?

Plus, Super Target lets you build your own six-pack.

Edit: And and and!  You can download demos onto your DS in Target via Magic Nintendo Waves.  Or maybe WiFi.  One of the two.

Heh... I live on a golf course only I don't golf... not far from Amish country.  I used to live in a marina only I didn't have a boat.  I don't know why I pick the place I do.  Righ isn't picky at all and will live wherever I put his comfy chair.

I've only been in Walmart twice in my life and I have no idea how I completely missed the grocery store part.  I don't think any of the K-Marts had any sort of perishable stuff except some units with milk and frozen items.  Never anything like produce or meat.  I'm not sure I've ever been in any of the "Super" ones, though.  As an aside, I do all my grocery shopping online and have it delivered.  I only buy fresh meats and produce from food shops.  Mostly I go to Wegmans or Whole Foods for that stuff although I'm not adverse to stopping at a roadside stand for fresh veggies and fruit.

Actually, it's not a bad hole at all.  I like the view.

From www.acmemarkets.com.  There's a $10 delivery charge.  Considering how much I HATE grocery shopping, it's a cheap alternative.  I have a freezer so I don't have to buy meats too, too often and I pick up veggies and fruits during odd daytime hours, if possible.  I will go through extraordinary lengths to avoid grocery stores and the horrors they contain.

It's pretty easy if there's a Target around. I haven't set foot in a Walmart in years and there's one 5 minutes from my house.

When you work til 11PM and nothing is open, the only place to buy release day games is Wal*Mart.

Consider yourself lucky your walmart stocks release day games. The shitbags here will usually get around to opening the box a week later. That was one nice perk about unloading the trucks, I could get new releases when they shipped in. Walmart is the only place besides Staples (haha...they still have the old big box pc games, their stock is around four years old, except their Sims 2 display) to get video games in my town. My town sucks. But that's also why I chuckle when people judge pc games dying because of the retail situation, I order all my games online unless I find something in a bargain bin when the female unit is shopping.

There is a pro shop at the bottom of the hill.  There is also a K-Mart not far away... we pass it when we go anywhere.  It just never occurred to me to actually go in.  I have, however, bought plenty of things online from Target, Bed, Bath and Beyond, and other places like that.  Target has some quite nice stuff now and then.

I'll go back to shopping in person when they implement PvP.

Hooray, thanks.

Are freezers and oddity where you are from?  You say this like it's equivalent to having a heated toilet seat.

I don't go to Wal*Mart because I have a SuperTarget.  Target is better than Wal*Mart in pretty much every way.  SuperTarget helped me like grocery shopping again; it's nicer than normal grocery stores in pretty much every way.

Long dumb anecdote on release-day woes: I went to Besy Buy to get the new Sims 2 expansion and consider myself extremely fortunate that it was somewhere in the stockroom on the release day.  The goober that was "helping" me look for it, since I am obviously too retarded to look at shelf contents, stared at the shelf for a bit before I pointed with my finger to the "available 8/30" advertisement strip.  He then checked the computer, but not until he took a detour through the manga section and checked a few endcaps.  Another huge guy came by and decided to check The Back.  While he was gone, Stephen Hawking Jr. and I were grumbling about thing in Atlanta never being available on release day, and he mentioned that he once worked for EB.  I faked an "oh, really".

I eventually left the store with the expansion, but DAMMIT.  Digital distribution is my new cause.

I made a Bat Country Gang. Morphiend, I invited you.

I'm pretty pissed off about the core mission design though. Not sure how much I'll be playing the regular game anymore. It just doesn't make sense to me that I have to do side missions to play the main quest. Building rep during main quests (in reality land) is how I'd be well known enough to walk into a titty bar and be a driver for an escort service. Escorting women around is not what makes me a kickass gangbanger.

Needless to say, they've got the whole thing backwards. The multiplayer is what seals the deal though. The concept of online gangs > running around a ghetto fucking up stereotypes.
