I need some advice!
The fiancee and I just finished the Lord of the Rings: Return of the King game on the original XBox. We enjoyed this game, and are looking for some other games that we can play two player.
Unfortunately I haven't been able to find ANYTHING for rent or buy that supports two players in an RPG or fantasy setting. I was hoping to play KoToR, however it is single player only. LOTR:ROTK was fun because we could both play at the same time, without a split screen, or needing two Xbox's.
This XBox is destined to become a MythTV front end soon, but before I blew it away I thought I'd ask the forum for any recommendations for stuff we could play before the hard drive wipe happens! We like Sci-Fi or fantasy RPG types that we can play cooperative.

Get the Xmen Legends games. They are about 85% 2 player coop. Pretty fun stuff.

Maybe I'm missing out on all the good co-op games, but it seems everything is being geared towards online play.
Screw that, I want to sit on a couch with some buddies and play through a game, and outside of sports games, I'm not finding too many that do that anymore.

Have you tried the internet? It's made out of millions of people missing the point of everything and then getting angry about it

It's called Nintendo, my friend.

It's not called Nintendo. Nintendo does not make epic coop games. The LOTR series are epic coop games. Nintendo makes party and sports games. Coop is a RARE animal these days, but it seems to be getting quite the revival on the 360 - with games like Castle Crashers and it's brother Alien Hominid on it's way, as well as a smash brothers type game and all the AAA titles coming out (like Kane & Lynch, Army of Two - these games are practically forced coop titles)... not to mention Contra and Super Contra coming to XBLA.
Even then, it's still hard to stick with a system. The PS2 had no coop support really... but it had Culdcept. Also, Ribbit King, Katamari Damacy 2 (has a bizarre coop mode too) and a number of other things. The Xbox actually has a decent raft of coop stuff, but really, the best stuff - as mentioned - will be on the 360. The Gamecube doesn't have coop games so much as it has a bunch of games that aren't coop but aren't really competitive either. In terms of Coop it does have Alien Hominid (though finding it will be a trick), and uhhhh Ikaruga? Yea, basically the Gamecube sucks balls for coop also. I hope Xbox Live Arcade gets the ultimate coop title (though it already has Smash TV), Zombies ate my Neighbors.
Anyway, yea, coop sucks. Your best bet will be to ditch the Xbox ASAP and upgrade to a 360.
Edit: Get Dark Alliance 1 & 2. I'm pretty sure they're out for the original Xbox. Also, Fallout Brotherhood of Steel is a peachy coop title. I think that about covers it.
