So it appears Steely Dan has pulled one over on the media with a recent tirade against Owen Wilson and his new movie.

(Some of) The media has picked up the letter and took it seriously that there will be forthcoming legal action.

You would think the whole comment about bringing his bongo's and sitting in after the apology should have been a tip-off, if not for the stoned trailing off into nonsense about Russian Navy Seals.

Most of the goddamn media probably hasn't even heard of Steely Dan, much less even know where the name comes from. They probably think Donald Fagen's nickname is Steely Dan.

Yeah, this is a music joke that I don't get. I know who steely dan (the group) is. I don't know where the name comes from (and neither does wikipedia!).

I find that hard to believe. I dislike them quite a bit (my girlfriend's favorite band), but who hasn't heard of Steely Dan? We all go to the dentist, right?

I'm surprised you guys didn't know it was a dildo. Maybe I'm getting old.
