Link to the InterviewWe figured we'd start hitting them up with some good questions early on, and avoid the fluff stuff that the big fan sites seem to waste time on. He couldn't answer some of our questions yet due to some things not being finalized, but did make a point to say that he'd come back and answer those and other things in more detail in the fall.

If you guys get to ask more questions, can you ask them about casual PvP? Some of us don't want to worry about guilds or prefect builds. Just log on bust some heads, have fun, and log off.

You get ranked against people of similar skill rating and time played, so its likely casual players will only get matched against other casual players.

Not a bad little interview, never heard of the game but it doesn't sound like I need to look it up any time soon. What struck me is the dev/rep guy answering your questions sure sounded more like one of "us" then one of "them" I think that is a good thing.

A nation consists of its laws. A nation does not consist of its situation at a given time. If an individual's morals are situational, then that individual is without morals. If a nation's laws are situational, that nation has no laws, and soon isn't a nation. -William Gibson

If you simply want to drop in and play a few times a week, you’ll be in great shape. Fury is intended to support players of all levels whether you’re a “casual”, “amateur”, or “professional” gamer. Fury’s matchmaking system tracks and compare’s each player’s “real skill”, and also considers whether you are playing in a pick-up group or a guild group. It then matches you against an appropriate team from another realm. The goal is that pickup groups will fight other pickup groups, casual guilds will fight other casual guilds, and uber guilds will fight other uber guilds. -Adam

That's definately in "the easier said than done" category.
What are you going to about Quiters and Leechers? PvP missions in GW: Factions are great, but a large percentage of the time it comes done to which team has less Q/L. And sinse A.net doesn't give a damn about Casaul PvP, they have done nothing about it.
How are you going to handle stratification of players among the different arenas? If the player base is all looking for battles in a couple of dozen different arenas, it be harder start a battle. It'll be harder to find a battle of equivallant skill level.
Are going have feedback for those waiting for a battle? Its fustrating to wait for a battle to start and not know if there is even anyone on the other side looking for a battle.
By pickup groups, do you mean random players assigned a team at the begining of battle or players forming groups of strangers before battle, of both like WoW?
