This is not new news but in case anyone out there has not seen it, it is pretty funny.

Seen it before, but it still makes me chuckle. Pwned indeed.

Makes the time I got in trouble for not catching the "wet and throbbing" our CG operator slipped into the 6pm road report seem pretty tame :P

I'm an editor with a large online news service. I see that and think "fucking amateurs".

The number one rule of dummy text is that you only ever use Lorem Ipsum: Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua.

I suppose that would also look pretty strange on TV, but the point is it doesn't *mean* anything to anyone, so the embarrassment does not carry.

Common video graphics systems pull information from database entries or HTML sources to insert on-the-fly into prebuilt templates; it works very well for things like sports or election coverage where you need to have constantly-updated information.  It works less well if you forget that the general public will screw you over, and instead trust them to do the database entry for you without having someone actively QC it.

Although, some of the less blatant ones would have slipped by many of the news staff I used to work with.  Fortunately we didn't trust them with that sort of responsibility (not that we didn't make our own goofs once in a while.)

I remember reading a computer magazine in which a picture was captioned "type some shit in here".
