After work yesterday, I logged on to download 1.11.  When connecting to Blizzard, I got an error message that was something like....

Network Card driver out of date....cannot download...and something about peer-to-peer connectivity

I have been playing for over a year with no problems downloading patches.

The only thing (that I can think of) that is different is that I added Digital Phone to my Road Runner package, so I have a new modem.

Luckily, I downloaded the patch through the link on another thread (thanks guys!!!!  :-D ).

I have a standard Net Gear 1394 (?) card, that appears to have the latest drivers.

Has anyone seen this error, or can give me an idea what is going on?

If you don't want to hear the answer -- don't ask the question.

It sounds like the standard error message it gives you if it senses it's not getting through the correct ports. If you have a router, try setting it up to forward the port the downloader is trying to use (you can see in the advanced details in the downloader).

It wants tons of ports open; I just go to options, use Peer to Peer and it works fine even though it stays yellow.

Heh, everytime I tried to download the patch it'd get to a certain point and then destroy my network connect (I'd have to restart my cable modem) and eventually the patch would stop downloading after about 90 megs.  That's never happened before.

Good point.  Does your firewall (router) allow you to DMZ your machine ?

Witty banter not included.

Sure it does, but I don't use it. I've got forwarded ports to my server so I can't turn on DMZ.
