Heh I logged into ED Hordeside then AP Hordeside - not a single person online as of this post. Of course I don't know Stray's Allianceside priests' name sooooooo.

Cheddar, why quit now? Or did you already have a running subscription or something? As far as I can tell, ED is still probably the place to be. It's just that I'm not on it (and between you and me, you're better off! ;)).

Heh, don't read too much into it. The character's still there. I was just tempted to go for another server where I could get some starting silver.
Eh...Whatever. It was Rojin again on Aerie Peak/Alliance.
[edit]
Anyways...So..I'm sticking with it (AP server). A tailor/enchanter/priest probably doesn't need to worry about money just yet.

Yeah I didn't mean it to come off like that, I am in not position to put a judgement on what's "fun" for people to do/play in WoW. I'm just as bad.

On AP my horde name is Knickers and my Alliance name is Midden, I think. (because she' s such rubbish) By the time I actually have a chance to sink my teeth into a game again, everyone will have probably wandered off to play something else. When I'm not watching footie, I'm packing boxes and doing other stuff. I try to get at least an hour or so in either WoW or EQ2 a day... just so I don't forget what I'm doing. Unfortunately, it's been days and days since I've played EQ2 so I'm likely to have forgotten everything about it. I'm bad with memory.

Wands kick ass. I had no idea. Do they still remain cool in the high levels?

So long as you keep getting a high-dps for your level or blue wand (same as with any other weapon) they're pretty nice and let a priest dish out some very nice DPS while keeping the mana high. My 'crappy' wand has 67 dps as a level 60. Not bad at all when you compare it to the 1h & 2h weapons melee are using. So long as you keep your wand skill high the resist rate isn't crappy, either.
My usual routine as a holy was Holy Fire- SWP- Bubble - Wand the fuck out of them. Then I'd just reapply swp or bubble as needed. As a shadow while leveling-up it was a bit different, and I saved the wanding for when I hit about 50% mana, so my spirit would regen as I fought.

I take it that a healer can take advantage of wanding more than others then, right?
Also, can any class duel wield them?

There's no dual wanding regardless of class. As far as wands for a weapon as a caster - think of it as your melee weapon, or even better, wielding a bow. Wands have a damage variance, stat buffs, a damage type and an attack speed. Basically they provide a manaless DPS source for casters. All casters can benefit from good wand damage, and if you teach yourself to observe the 5 second rule you can really decrease your down time. Priests in particular benefit from wanding because of PW: Shield. You can sit inside your Shield and rip wand autoshots. Many people will tell you that getting (and upgrading) a decent wand as a Priest or Warlock is the single most important item you can acquire to speed your levelling.

Man, what have I done? I don't see anyone logging into ED anymore (or Horde AP for that matter). I don't expect anyone to roll Alliance, but I hope I didn't spoil whatever it was that was happening on Emerald Dream.
[edit]
Err...That sounds kind of egotistic, doesn't it? Didn't mean it that way.

I don't think the ED thing was on for so long that you could have spoiled it, was it? I explained somewhere around here why I've not been able to log in much... I haven't logged into EQ2 for about a week or so now. It's temporary. I saw Righ playing around with a dorf on AP last night. I don't know anyone's alliance name to check for people, however... not even Righ.
Anyway, don't start feeling guilty or I'll poke fun at you.

My playtime has been down too. I've not played EQ2 either. I'm still interested in ED Horde side, since I don't have a horde pvp anything (other than Phyllis). I have several alliance toons already (now on two different servers, due to an offered transfer), so if you need cash and want to play on a pvp server, play either Shattered Hand or Korgath and I can help you out either place. (I think Korgath has been around since March; SH is original).
I'm hoping to play more next week, but this weekend is pretty full.

Will do. Anyways, on AP my alliance priest is Rojin. I'm still a little open minded about Horde characters on AP or Lethon, but I think I'm going to count ED out for good. I already find WoW abnormally difficult to get situated in for a variety reasons, but if I play Horde on a established PvP server, I'm just setting myself up for definite failure. I'm just not masochistic enough to roll a new toon there. Even if I got to 60, it'd be a stupid idea to go out and play him anywhere except small instances. I wouldn't enjoy battlegrounds, and definitely wouldn't enjoy world PVP: People are equipped up the ass in epics on servers like that. And no guild wants new rogues, of all things, so I can play those raids that'll help me get similarly equipped. My other character on ED is a warrior, and they have the same dillemma. Any guild willing or able to get competitive gear already has a large pool of tanks. Else they wouldn't even be running through those dungeons to begin with.

In the last two evenings I've only managed about an hour of WoW. I levelled up my dwarf called Gunnar on AP to 8 or 9 or something, so apparently I know how to level a hunter fairly quickly.
However, just to disarm your point about "already has a large pool of tanks" - if you are a half decent player with an inclination and the time to raid, then you'll typically have no problem finding a raiding guild, even on a well-established server. All raid guilds depend on a steady stream of recruits, because people get bored, have RL commitments, defect, whatever.

OK, just one last thing. If you guys are gravitating towards Horde, would you still be interested in AP or Lethon? After all, we've already got Bat Country formed on one of them. I'm still gonna play this priest a bit, but I could try a Tauren Shaman somewhere: Benefits being that I have never played one, they have a nice starting area, and they're not hunchbacks. And if I roll him on AP, maybe it'll be good thing that I have an Alliance alt on there as well.
[edit]

I've been dinking around on AP as well, just because I enjoy the (potentially) more mellow pace of PvE. I'm a member of Hordeside Bat Country with my little trolly hunter, but the onlly other person I've seen online is "Doomborn". He's a level 12 Warrior last I checked, and hasn't responded to any of my chat in /guild. All he does is log on/off periodically , and seems to be online 24/7. Anywho: Geiss = AP Horde, Jagdhund = AP Alliance

Well, if you log in right now, can you invite "Korr"? That's my Shammy....Just in case. I've got my rogue (Brax) in the guild too.

I'll probably play a bit over the weekend. Doomborn appears to be entirely new to WoW - he didn't know what the guild charter was all about. On the other hand, he instantly knew what Bat Country was, picking up the Hunter Thompson reference rather than thinking it was somthing to do with Avenged Sevenfold (as everybody else did).

Much better than the stragglers we had in the ED guild. If I recall correctly, there was a lvl 14-ish hunter in that guild, crying on guild chat about getting swamped by mobs and dying a lot.
I looked on the guild roster and saw that he was in Azshara. Wtf.

It was actually my fault. It wasn't really serving a purpose. We're pretty much better off with just the f13 chat so we can still talk to each other and group together obviously, but we're all free to join more active guilds if we want (and because of that there's less pressure for all of us to focus on one server).

You disbanded the guild even though there were people in it? I am shocked! Why didn't you just leave? Or am I missing something here?

Stray had given me the GM powers for the guild. The only way it would let me leave without disbanding the guild is if I handed off the powers to someone else. With Cheddar having given up already, and Stray and Righ playing mostly on other servers, the only person I could have probably passed it off to was Flood. It didn't seem worth the effort to try and get him on at the same time as me to pass off the GM powers to him as he would have been stuck with 4 or 5 people we don't know, in a guild with a stupid, stupid name.

Good decision.
Not sure everyone knows this, but one can make whatever channel one wants, by typing /join channelname
The first person creates the channel, everyone else who types it will join in. Moderation passes to whoever is left or was first or whatever - I don't know what a moderator can do, because I've never investigated. The channel is persistent in that you don't need to rejoin it every time you log in.
So anyway, on ED, there's an f13 channel. I'm assuming there's one on Lethon or AP as well?

I was only teasing you, Vel. It was a fine move. And I don't know if anyone's made a channel for f13 on AP. I've added people to my friends list but, every time I've been on (granted, it's not often) only Righ has been around. I can just shout at him from over here.

We have the BC guild on Horde side. I just made an /f13 channel on Alliance. If you see a Talron or Rojin, that's me.
[edit]
Also, this server is up to the brim with people in the newb lands still. I don't what it is about it, but I don't like it.
I need a Plan B.

I played for a short time last night and there were a ton of people dancing naked and talking dirty in Human Land. :-( I had to tell at least 10 people to piss off and leave me alone.

Yeah, I don't know what's up. /Emote dancing, Chuck Norris chat, and 50 person raids on Hogger. They're constantly asking "Is this a new server?" too. As if they were just plopped in there, and didn't see the "New" status at startup.
