F13.net and Cutting Edge Technology

After an exhaustive few weeks, our Frankenstein's Monster of a plugin for SMF and Nucleus CMS is complete. Some of you may have noticed the "ForumBot 0.8 beta" poster in the forums. He is not real. He is merely a highly advanced piece of artifical intelligence that posts news from the frontpage into the correct forum in the forums. As of right now, he only directs to the top forum, "It Came From the Frontpage" (and its child boards). But what else does this thing do? For starters, it automagically generates links back to the frontpage from the forum and links to the forum at the end of articles from the frontpage. But that's not all! The robot also generates links to Digg, Reddit, and Del.icio.us. So get your act together, citizens of the intarweb. It's now easier to spread the gospel of f13. Also, we've managed to make it so the robot can force YouTube and other things to show in the forum. It's a damned swiss army knife, I'll tell ya. A new technology that was previously only a wish in the back of my mind. Most importantly, it doesn't stop. It never sleeps. It never dreams. It's completely obedient. The perfect robot.

This post isn't really about the robot though. It's about Trippy. He single-handedly created this thing to my anal-retentive specifications of cleanliness and made it work. So please, give him a hand. Or chocolate. Or even virtual props. But give him something, he deserves it.

I meant top of the page. Not the top level of this forum. But he obeys commands! Ninja edit time!

Nice work, Trippy. I just started using del.icio.us not that long ago due to an unfortunate incident with lost favorites and a not-so-hot backup of them. In any case, I like what you've done. Again, great work and thanks.

Trippy is a big Cherry RASPBERRY lollypop.  We should lick him until there's nothing left but a stick.

No, wait.. grape.  NO!  Raspberry.  That's it, RASPBERRY.

I get it.  He's giving Trippy a file and baking him inside a cake that he will give to schild to break him out of prison when Blizzard sends him there.

I'm pretty sure that's what he's doing.

So if the site gets too much intraweb cred I'm going to get banned aren't I...

P.S.  Congrats Trippy, now build a robot-car that can travel across the desert for NASA?

I feel bad for Trippy.  He must be under so much pressure.  We're all being so nice and giving him kudos.  He knows, one mistake, and we'll pounce.

Sorry, no room. It's either you or my cell phone and, well, my cell phone can do EVDO.

EVDO? EVOO? Interesting. I wonder if I could dig up a picture of olive oil surfing the net at high speeds.

It's times like this that I wish I could remember more quotes from Bladerunner.
