Back in the day (of the Commodore Amiga), there was a game called Sensible Soccer that was a whole lot of fun to play. It had zany programmers who twisted physics, sped it up and made a classic. It was soccer as a cartoony computer game, rather than a computer game trying to be soccer. I even kept the box and original disk after I sold my Amiga :)

They are about to release a 2006 remake and I just played the demo - it's good fun. Doesn't have commentary like a FIFA game so it feels a bit silent, but that doesn't really matter.

Jesus,  heading the ball with a noggin like that could be nasty.

Downloading to try it out.  I wonder if the US team will be as big a set of pussies  when they've got the ball in the box as the curent team is.

STAR.

FORCE.

If not, and you can throw teams up against other players teams, ya, I might pick this up.

And they make it for the PSP, which would be the ULTIMATE platform for a footie game like this.

That was a hypothesis... they haven't yet announced a PSP version. I would rock the world however.

STAR.

FORCE.

It is apparently NOT a Starforce game.

2. No - there's no Starforce on the PC version of Sensible Soccer 2006.

Got confirmation from Compat on this and I can categorically state "no Starforce" on Sensible Soccer 2006.

It'll be using another copy protection system.

Sensible Soccer and the "Goal" series were really "twitch" soccer.

I was completely inept at them.

Umm....Aren't all sports games "twitchy"?

Well, all of them except those game manager ones.
