Why the fuck there's no topic about this game in here? I expected that you'll have every new mmorpg launch covered at least month ahead, and you totally slipped this one. Anyway, let me sum it up: 0) Combat is really fun! 1) It's fully player skill/twitch driven.. 2) It's free to play. 3) Launched today. 4) It doesn't lag! (game, not the site) Game is a full 3D SF shooter. Think EVE, except you have full control over your ship. Steering by mouse, with keybaord used for stuff like skills and evade rolls. The game proes how worthless and miserable AA is. It's free, it's really skill based and it's fun. Few notes: 1) Download the client in rar files. 2) You have to register on the website bofre you can log in, do so before client downloads (upper right corner of website) 3) Avatar (city) mode is worst abnomination in history of games. All games. After you create character, just select a mission and press "warp to mission". All you have to do in city is selling/buying equipment one per two hours, so don't try walking, just warp to mission;-) 4) Do not repair armor/shields/skill points. They are ridiculously expansive and will regenerate on their own in 30 seconds or less. 5) Read keymap , it'll save you tons of grief. 6) Game has very straightfoward attitute to kill stealing - whoever started first, gets the loot. So don't bother 'helping' people. I still have to try PvP, so no comment there. LINK: http://sco.gpotato.com/

What a waste of Cowboy Bebop vernacular. Is there anything beyond flying around in ships and shooting a gun?

Because it was?Give this woman a pointy stick! She catches everyone out! Nice work, Officer Lantyssa! And while I was over there I noticed THIS from WUA. I'll lick my knees while standing straight up if Signe will just change her avatar. Go on, then. I want pics.

I have been playing this a bit today. It's not too bad for a free shooter. It reminds me of the original arcade version of Lock-On, although it has been so long since I played it that I may not be remembering it well. I'm at least being entertained for today.

There is something wrong with the game, I played it found out what it was and quit. I just forget what it was.
Something about the effect levels have on the game. Oh and the pve grind is long like Korean-long I didn't realize it at first but daamn it is no joke.

You level fairly quickly to start, but after level 11 or so, when you choose a faction, the levelling just gets LOT more slow. I also noticed that the missiles you get to start with do about 50 damage on a hit, wheres the ones i have at lvl 13 do 4 times as much.

uhm uh. lv1-11 can be done in less than 90 minutes. If that is adequate leveling pace for you, then I have no real questions. You can try PvPing ~lv20, which is doable in weekend. Bt this point, weapon damage gets more stantandardized - ten levels higher you'll be doing a mere ~30% more damage. The real grind (point where you need ~100 creatures to lv up)[though some people would argue that it's not a grind unless you have to kill a thousand] starts after lv30, hopefully you get all critical PvP skills by lv38 at worse.
Levels have hidden influence in PvE, but they don't present in PvP. Moreover, since it's a shooter, you can outmanevrouer and kill someoene twice your level (at lv25, 40% of my kills were lv40+ players, one had lv61).
I went from 1 to lv38 in 6 days, playing for ~4 hours daily.
You can fight at 20-25, you will have your very own uber_pwnmobile at lv38(in worst case). I heard that leveling to 80 would make you cool and shit, but there is no way I'll ever try to. Not even extra 50% damage will save them when I manage to get on their tails.

They have drastically ramped up the xp gain from the beta I played like almost a year ago then. I would have to go on a mission that was basically kill 100 of <insert stupid mob here> to get half a level. But what was worse is the missions were so Engrish that I had to find an english fansite to figure out what I was supposed to be doing.
