UO emulated shard, looking for a few to PVP with

Ive been doing some research and there seems to be a couple spots to choose from. www.uodivinity.com is one , www.metropolisshard.com would be the other.

Divinity : Done by the guys running 2 other successful emulated servers. Server is only a couple months old (so housing is not a huge factor). No horses, statloss on reds (if there bounty reaches 5000 gold...im kinda iffy on that one), no special attacks like concussion or paralyzing blows. pre-casting... No factions, Order/Chaos is live. Supposed to be setup as a t2a server. I think skill gain is slower than metropolis

Metropolisshard: Been havng recent problems with some hacker crashign them , had to disable account creation or some crap. I played on this one like a year ago and it was fun. I believe housing could be a problem. I believe they added factions very recently. Has pre-casting.

This just scratches the surface of the shard rules. i advise those that are serious to PM me, I have a Vent server and we could get rolling quick.

Metropolis.  Warning- You will need to macro/spend some time working skills.  Pretty much we are exchanging info and cheering each other up currently; hopefully we will have money rolling in shortly! (BC UOE here we come!)

In game chat sucks balls.  Hopefully our heartless overlords benevolent saviors will get TS set up soon for F13 people.  I am enjoying the game like never before; it is a lot like old school UO with less (read: no) lag and a bit of sanity thrown in.  I am surprised that it has been around for 3 years (Metro) and I just now found out about it.  If I find it fulfilling I will post some logs about how things are going; evidently 2 of you were reading my production shard essays, and I have no issues continuing the trend.

Interesting. I logged in and spawned in front of a tavern. Some noob people was about there. In 15 minutes 2 of them tried attacking me and one stole a tunic from me. I callled the guards 3 times and had them killed. In 15 minutes, while I was figuring the keyboard layout and stuff like that, I tripled my starting money, looted a vast amount of potions and a bag full of reagents.

My status...

Been doing the free/very cheap macroing that I can. I created 2 accounts, one a healer and one my soon to be PVP mage. I basically take off a wizards cap, put it back on and meditate. Then I eval Int on the healer guy. The time we are doing this we are wrestling far outside of town. He heals occasionally.

Im basically like 63 Wrestle, 66 med, 62 Eval, 49 magery, 50 resist. I really need to decide what skills im going to make him. Was thinking Roach mage (Parry / Hiding) but IDK, maybe a standard tank.

Time to make some money!

Looks like it has to be impleneted yet, but sounds promising, with controlled trade routes and cities!

I currently have 82.5 peacemaking with 100 music.  "WHAT DOES THIS MEAN CHEDDAR???" you ask.  Well this means we can do some adventuring now; perhaps we can get a group to hit up Covetous harpy room or check out the orc fort south of Cove. 

My taming is progressing nicely; is anyone going to be working on crafting?  I could use some tinkered boxes and free lockpicks!

OK 4 of us are doing a crawl around 9 pm EST. Will not be making lots of money, but its a chance for you melee monkeys to get some skills.  Errr since Falcon is the only one who we have not had direct contact with yet I guess this post is for you!  We will be at Covetous, the dungeon west of Vesper.

I gotta say that tonight was a fucking blast.  There were 4 of us, 2 warrior types, 1 mage wanna-be, and a tamer who could not heal his pets.  And we made it work!  Best part of the dungeon crawl was having a paragon pop up (Super boss).  At first we were debating what to do, and finally as a group we began backing up an empty tunnel so as to finish it off.  Group dynamics were great, and I had a GREAT amount of fun.

Which made me think.  Why DID UO, a sandbox game, never have a dungeon crawl?

Then I had flashbacks.  Of my times in UO, of riding the glorious ride to Grandmaster, to defeating the demon, to gathering a group together to help explore the inner depths of Hythloth.

Then people began selling runes there. 

Did the allowing of people to recall into these areas degrade the sandbox?

Yes.  Also, even under Fel rules with pushthrough, it's not hard to zoom to the bottom of a dungeon without taking much damage.  Monsters are slow and a horse plus a cable modem is fast.

Heh, Server is about a medium load.  A LOT of PvP goes on though, so most the time people are in a small area.  Its just enough that you can interact with people, but not so much that you deal with tons of jackasses.

Tonight we took on the Orc Fort south of Cove.  Pretty much rocked it; our strategy worked well once we had some practice.  Basically Slayer would Blade Spirit ahead, thus keeping the majority of the mobs busy, and we would help mop up as needed.  Of primary concern were the orc mages.  Tough little bastards who would not only spell dump on us but also would dispell blade spirits every so often.

We won, though, with no deaths none the less!  Next we decided we were the shit and went in search of some undead fiends.  Hit up 2 graveyards, one between Cove and Vesper, and the other which is off one of Vespers main streets.  Took down maybe 4 liches total and got a taste for rad drops.  I am hoping we can tackle Shame soon (I believe its Shame, its the one with oodles of Elementals).  We will need at least 1 or 2 Master melees plus a mage or 3 for that to be successful.  My next goal is to get magery up to a decent level so I can provide more support (my taming will not be handy until around 90+).

Skills I have now are:  Animal Lore 94.3, Animal Taming 69.2, Lockpick 51.7, Magery 34.5, Meditation 77.3, Music 100, Peacemaking 83.7.  I may drop Peacemaking though.  Debating on picking up either Cartography + a random skill or switching over to Provoke.  Provoke seems kinda asanine though, seeing as how I will be using pets for my primary method of battle.  My primary flaw with this template is I have zero personal defense; I am sneaky though and pretty good at dodging around.  Maybe I should keep Peacemake?

It almost feels new again. It was so long ago that i played that just skilling up with some guys has been a blast. We make a little cash, we get some drops...and its fun as well 2 boxing (well 2 clients anyways) my wife's dexer and my own mage.

So far its been great rollin with Add and Chedd, and duse will be joinin us in a few days.

Fizzling Corp Pors is getting on my nerves,  but all in good time ill be  a nasty mofo. I never realized how handy Peacemaking could be, dont think i ever really had a friend that had one before. Aggro reset FTW.

The vent is up running, and there is no better time than now to get started
