Infinium Labs is full of a buncha fucking retarded gorillas.

Hrmm, where do I even begin. On the front page of their forums (the splash page before you actually enter them), they have a box for press releases. 2 of the 5 press releases are bragging about how they just KEEP GETTING TEH EMPLOY33S. Seriously. Let's take a look at this, cuz I can't make this shit up(caution, fluff was cut out, and I'm not giving them the pleasure of being linked to):

Quote from: Infinium Labs Press Release
They just keep coming!
Quote

Who hired you to do press releases? This won't end well.
Quote
And another hire...Infinium Labs Names Vice President of Operations; Michael Whitaker To Manage Day-to-Day Operations as Company Prepares for Launch of Phantom Gaming Service
Who?
Quote
...has added Michael L. Whitaker as vice president of operations.
Again, who?
Quote
Whitaker brings to Infinium Labs more than 15 years of operations experience in engineering, customer service, network management, central operations and project management.
That doesn't help your reputation, MR. CEO.
Quote
"Mike brings multi-faceted experience to our management team which will contribute to long-term development of our company on all levels," said Kevin Bachus, president of Infinium Labs.
Translation: He's black.
Quote
There was a bit about where Mr. Whitaker had worked before coming to Infinium, but they all looked about as important as Mr. Bachus' previous offerings
Quote
"With recent advances in broadband technology, I wanted to be involved in a project at the heart of such an exciting application as delivering games right to the living room," Whitaker said.
I already have games in my living room, kkthxbye.
Quote
"I wasn't a hard-core gamer before, but the Phantom Gaming Service is going to have me hooked."
Now that you have your tongue faced firmly up the ass of Mr. Bachus, I dare you to say "fluffy bunny."
Quote
Whitaker holds a bachelor's degree in science from Indiana State University.
I have 2 problems with this:

1. You can get a bachelor's degree in Science? I thought you got a BS IN SOMETHING, not just blanket 'science.' I didn't know state schools offered catchall majors....except for Comm.
2. Your vice president of operations has a fucking Bachelor's.....in Science (again, whatever the hell that is)? I think he'll make a GREAT head of operations.

Also, as a side note, it looks like they have offices in New York, Seattle, Sarasota, and 'other.' I'm sorry, you have at least 4 offices and you've produced absolutely zero income and will probably fail within the first 3 months of release.....Do me a favor and wave to the Atari Jaguars and copies of E.T. when you're getting hurdled through hell.

Goddamn I hate that company.

P.S. There's also a press release on how Comcast is trying to compete with the Phantom with their new offerings. No, bucko, they're trying to compete with the other 5 or so services that already offer what you've had as vapor for over a year now. I must admit, the absolutely uncontrolled fanbois of the Inifnium Lab forum are very easy targets. If you're feeling down you should tcroll on over there.

Here's a good quote from the forum when asked how the hell they will test the platform for November release when the confirmed list of games won't even be out until August.

Quote
And if Infinium is doing it right (and looks like they are) any game that runs on a windows XP should run perfectly fine on this system.

So the beta is meant to stress test the network and stress the system, not nessecarly the games themselves. The games themselves may not even happen, we may be downloading files all the time. Testing the networks, testing the interface in a real world environment.

Oooooh, look a virgin. Can I get a photograph of his face the exact moment he realizes this is one of the most naive things he's ever written?

As far as I've known and researched, you can have a Bachelor's of Science in a certain field, such as nursing or MIS, but not a Bachelor's in Science. That would have to be a general error on the part of whoever wrote/said that statement.

However, you can have a Bachelor's of Science in General Science which is perhaps where the confusion occured. Either way, the guy doesn't sound like a bang-up cadidate based on degrees.

They're advertising for programmers on craigslist for Seattle.

Here's my big chance to break back into the game industry...

The multi-national "offices" can simply be a percentage of someone's residence marked off as "office" on their tax forms. Or a PO Box. Who cares?

This whole thing smacks of those idiot dotCOMs that blew a million on a commercial block in Superbowl number whatever- it- was- four- years- ago. Phantom's a bunch of wasted hot air with just enough private funding to make a plausible prototype to show at E3. What's a few mil between friends?

And Comcast doesn't give a shit about Infinium. They give a shit about companies that are making real partnerships.
