Schild calls it the ocular nipple. You can ask him why yourself.

If they really want this thing to be a winner, they need to find an application for this device with respect to email or web surfing. Otherwise it will remain just a (very) cool geek toy.

"Young people who pretend to be wise to the ways of the world are mostly just cynics. Cynicism masquerades as wisdom, but it is the farthest thing from it. Because cynics don't learn anything. Because cynicism is a self-imposed blindness, a rejection of the world because we are afraid it will hurt us or disappoint us." -SC

Reminds me of the tactile mice that came out a few years ago - but with a bit more usefulness in games, less usefulness in normal apps.

The Logitech iFeel was entirely worthless. It didn't feel like anything more than a little vibrating motor inside a mouse. This thing manages to do its forces and resistances well. I think the only game that picked up the iFeel at the time was Black & White.

This has potential for great good or great evil. A full degree movement controller that operates similar to a mouse... I can think of a couple really awkward to control games this would rule for.

I'm guessing they got around the patents owned by Immersion Co., then.  Good.

Kinda cool, but I think I will wait for the next generation. That thing wouldn't fit on my desk! Plus, it would cover up my LtM mouse pad, which would be a shame.
