Based on some reviews, I thought I'd check this out. Anybody else try it? Fucking lousy translations, at any rate. So far I find it among the more confusing things I've ever tried to play, but it sure has a trippy amount of gameplay variety.

There is a non starforce version at Direct2drive.com. I have not played it, but have heard some pretty good things.
EDIT: Well I can't confirm this. I just emailed the wankers at their support center to see if this is true. I remember reading a comment by a developer over at quartertothree which claimed the direct2drive version does not contain starforce.

I'll give you the starforce-free .exe if you want.
or anyone for that matter. PM me if you need it.
(if you install the game but don't start it up until you've replaced the .exe it will not install starforce)

I finally recieved a reply from the people at direct2drive. It seems their version of Space Rangers does not contain starforce. Here is a list of star force enabled games over at direct2drive in case anyone is interested. Here is a current list of titles that use StarForce protection:

Hmm...and everybody was saying Ubisoft wasn't going to use Star Force anymore cause they dropped it on HoMM V. Somebody should double check that -- it might be only the d2d version that has it. |
