Tuned in, immediately get to watch cringey Ubisoft talking head offering her deepest sympathies to the families impacted by the Orlando shooting while flanked by a man in a giraffe suit and some sort of "horrifically garish neon costumes through the ages" exhibit or something. I find it kind of sad that RTS has actually regressed from the time that game came out. Of course, Glen Cook should have sued the shit out of Bungie for ripping off "The Black Company", but... Edit: I'm fairly certain Bungie no longer owns the rights to Myth any longer. I seem to remember them ditching Myth and Oni right around the time they sold out to MS, which cleared the way for someone else to put out Myth 3. Or I could be imagining things. |

So.... viewed the trailer and decided to take a look at what's being buzzed about with the announcement. I forgot how fucking bizarre and borderline insane the Bungie story people are. It looks like bits of the trailer (and the plots of the games so far) are being compared directly to a series of anonymous emails that were sent to a webmaster of a Marathon (Bungie's first FPS, 1995-1999 or thereabouts) story page. Take 2 has the rights for all the good it's done them after Myth III tanked. Really though, Bungie doesn't need to make another actual sequel to Myth. I'd just like something with the same kind of gameplay (no building or resources, pretty much every unit you have counts). |
