I agree with what he said.

Much like there wasn't enough dragon in Dungeons and Dragons there isn't enough Auto in Auto Assault.

I'm glad the product saw some improvement over what I played in early beta.  Mediocre is technically better than eye-stabbingly bad.

Nice review Rasix.

I was originally going to write a review of AA, since I figured I was one of the few people that was actually looking forward to the titles release.  But, after further consideration I realized what a waste of time it would be since no one on these forums really cares that much, or it would turn into another hijacked joke-making thread so, meh.

That all being said, I actually play the game.  My Human on Breakdown is level 41 (out of 80), so I've actually started to see a good portion of the games content beyond the level 1-15 zones.
I won't bother recapping much after Rasix's excellent review.  It's a decent enough game if you go into it with an open mind, but it is definitely not a finely polished and tuned piece of shiney.  It needs some bug fixes (IE - actually complete the game instead of rushing it to release).

I play an hour or two every night.  I'm not qualified to say whether this game will fail or not, but I can say that the community (small as it is) seems to be ready to stay behind AA with it's support.  *shrug*  The server populations are light, but there are definitely more people playing everyday.

That's nothing to be afraid of.  My last review for a PSP game got an entire one response and that was Signe making a tennis joke.

Have hit any of the world PVP yet at that level? I didn't bother trying the arena matches and I didn't get anywhere near high enough to do the world stuff.

It is a decent enough game.  Like I said, you just have to appreciate it for what it is.  I hope it carves out a decent niche for itself and survives long enough to make some needed improvement.

I'd actually still be playing it right now if I was diku'd out at the moment. Then again, every time I get a hankering for that style of gameplay.. there's always WoW.  undecided

I try and enroll in pick up matches in the Arena each play session.  There's an "Instant Action" option that I usually click.  It takes ehhh anywhere from 5-30 minutes to get someone else to join and be willing to commit to "Instant Action!"  I have only participated in 1v1's so far.  Most times you face same faction folks messing around for fun (like me).  A handful of times I have faced Mutants, and once a Biomek.

Pro's:  The PvP can be refreshing after mindlessly obliterating untold masses of PvE mobs.  The few times that I've managed to get into a steady convoy (group) the gameplay gets x5 funner.  PvP even moreso.  Also the voice comm works out of the box and without any hassle.  It's really the way to go if everyone has a mic.  I'd like to be able to get into a 2v2 or 4v4 type match and really see some class synergy come into play.

Con's:  1v1 there are some serious class imbalances that can ruin your day.  Caveat that I'm a Human Lieutenant.  Commando's and Bounty Hunters (and their racial counterparts) both have stunlike powers or lockdowns, while the pet based classes do not (or mine doesn't that I'm aware of).  This leads to the same scenario each round.  Lockdown > max burst DPS > get rammed for high damage > timers recycle > repeat.  Also, shockingly the games stealth dynamic is currently borked, so Bounty Hunters and their ilk get a lot of free azz rap3z on everyone.  Did I mention that 90% of the server population plays Commando's and Bounty Hunters?

As for Ground Zero, I can't get there yet.  I want to say you don't unlock the portal to that whole area until 60ish.  Right around release I convoyed with a guy, and he is now level 77.  He spends almost all of his time in GZ and seems to enjoy the action there.
