Somebody bought the game, which was shut down by Microsoft a long while ago.  This is the only browser-based TBS that has ever held my attention.  It has depth but lacks all the overly complex bullshit that I find in most browser games.  Anyways, for anyone that has any interest in the genre, check it out you might like it.  They are testing some changes to the code and the first multiplayer game has its first turn 04/28.

You need to make an account then play a solo game where you just conquer some neutral planets to get a feel for how it works.
